Moses was an exemplary leader. Exodus 33 is just one example of his care for the people more than himself. Probably the best part of his leadership was seeking to know God better, especially His glory. Join us this week as we look at the glory of God in Exodus 33.

Typically, when the Bible addresses idols, we think of hand held idols, false gods, and pagan religions. However, idolatry is just as dangerous today as it has ever been. Join us as we make our way through Exodus 32 and the golden calf.

This week we look at what has been called the Case Laws in Exodus. This section of Scripture is also called, “The Judgments.” Interestingly, Israel considered the Law as filled with grace. According to the psalms, they longed for and desired the Law. Why is that? Why do we seem to separate Law and Grace. Join us as we cover the Judgments in Exodus.

Join us at we look at the central focus of Israel’s Law, the 10 commandments. How did Israel understand the 10? How did Jesus summarize their teaching? How do we apply them today as believers?

Modern people tend to struggle with Exodus 19. The modern conception of God has become impersonal, non-miraculous, and altogether nice. Nevertheless, Exodus reveals God in thunder, lightning, and earthquakes. Join us as we explore the revelation of God at Sinai.

It’s been said that pastors must avoid the “Killer B’s.” Those killers are Business, Budgets, Bureaucracy, and Buildings. Nonetheless, churches cannot avoid most of those things altogether. Israel faced some of the same issues after redemption from Egypt. In Exodus 17, God gives the Israelites victory over the Amalekites in a very interesting manner. Not only does this passage impact what we know about Amalek, but also, it points us to both a deeper spiritual conflict as well as the Cross of Christ. Join us as we study Exodus 17.8-16.

This passage is known as the murmuring stories in Exodus. Israel journeyed through the wilderness on their way to Sinai. Along the way, they learn the hard lessons of trusting God for their basic needs. Exodus 15.22-17.7 tells us about sin and how it works in our hearts.

In the midst of the Exodus narrative, Exodus 15 might seem out of place. The entire chapter is a song or Hebrew poetry, and it’s placed right in the middle of the Exodus redemption story. Why does the text break the narrative? What is its purpose beyond the account description in Exod 14? Join us as we study Exodus 15.

In this sermon, we briefly discuss elements of redemption as they apply to Israel as well as the church. Principles and patterns that started in the Old Testament carry over into the New with Jesus and His work on the Cross.

Exodus 12 recalls the Passover and how God protected the Israelites from His 10th plague in Egypt. In this passage we see patterns of redemption related to a lamb slaughtered, applying blood, and trusting God. All of it makes so much more sense when we read Last Supper in the Gospels.

There are 2 basic approaches to understanding the plague accounts in Exodus. One is to see them as a reversal of creation, bring chaos into God’s world where He originally created order. Another is to see them as a polemic against Egyptian religion. Join us as we look at patterns of redemption in Exodus 7-10.

In Exodus 5, Moses had come off a spiritual high. He was called by God, went to Egypt, and the Israelite slaves united behind him. All of that drastically changed in a matter of moments when Pharaoh not only rejected Moses, but also, increased the work load for the slaves. Join us as we look to Exodus 5 as a compendium of sin.

Have you ever felt called to do an impossible task? At the beginning it might have seemed like God’s will, but then the reality of it all sinks in and you want to quit? Look no further than Moses to find a real biblical example of a man initially willing who doubted his abilities.

Exodus 3 is a fire theophany of the LORD. God reveals himself to Moses in the form of a burning bush that is not consumed. Join us as we talk about the key biblical concepts of revelation, worship, and the divine name of Yahweh.

In Exodus, Pharaoh and Egypt are the strong masters subjecting Israel to slavery. Nevertheless, Exodus also depicts a much more subtle master, the self-will and independent spirit we all have apart from Christ. Join us as we see Moses struggling under the subtle master of his own ways and self-will.

In this podcast, we wrap our sermon series through Colossians. After Paul addressed our prayer life and public life, he ended by talking about his personal life and friends in ministry. His words ask us to think about our friendships especially in ministry when life can be quite difficult.

When Paul commanded believers to be watchful in prayer, he might have had more in mind than just a consistent prayer life. Watchfulness in the New Testament is often a synonym for the believer being spiritually awake. Join us this week as we talk about Spiritual Narcolepsy in Colossians 4.

Colossians chapter 3 is all about identity transformation. If Col 3.1-14 centers on heart transformation then Col 3.15-25 centers on life transformation, specifically in the areas of marriage, family, and work.

If lasting change is going to happen in our lives, the Gospel must penetrate the heart. In Colossians 3.1-14, Paul provides three lists. The first two are lists of sins that Christians take off. The last is a list of virtues we put on. Join us as we consider how hearts are transformed and true Christian virtue is applied in the heart.

Colossians 2.16-23 is warning passage. The Apostle Paul warns believers about barriers to growth in the Christian life. Specifically, Paul mentions the pride and unreasonableness of adding legalism, mysticism, and asceticism to Christ. None of those things are the Gospel.

Paul took the first part of his letter to the Colossians to explain the truth of the Gospel and believer’s identity. In Col 2.6, Paul shifts from identity truth to identity transformed. Join us as we explore how the process of transformation starts for a believer.

This week the Apostle Paul describes his sacrificial ministry for Christ. He provides an overall purpose and goal for believers as they realize their identity in Christ. Paul also explains one of his favorite theological words, pulling from Daniel 2 concerning the mystery of Christ.

Join us as we continue our sermon series through Colossians on the supremacy of Christ. This week, Pastor Jared teaches through the great Christological hymn in verses 15-20 as well as other verses in chapter 1 with the ultimate goal of showing that Christ is enough to live a life that pleases God.
