What will we do with Jesus? What will we do with his Apostles? These are questions every living person must deal with. Whether we accept, reject or ignore, we cannot remain neutral on Jesus.

The Christian message provokes opposition. How do we stand firm? How do we proclaim Christ as the exclusive Lord and Messiah? We must first begin by sanctifying him as Lord in our own hearts.

Peter takes the apologetic opportunity provided by the healing of the lame man at the temple to preach Christ to the Jews. He shows through the Old Testament that Jesus is the prophesied, exulted messiah. Therefore it is by his name that the man was made well. They and we should repent, turn from our sin, and follow the Christ.

The Ascension is an all too often neglected doctrine. Of the historical events that compose our redemption, it belongs right alongside incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection. We need God to speak. He has abundantly provided, just as he promised. He sent a prophet like his servant Moses, to speak his words. Not only did Jesus speak the word. In him, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

It's obvious that we live in a broken world. The question is, will collective humanity be able to fix it, or do we need to look for salvation? We need salvation because of our collective fall. It is a grim reality, but the darkness drives us to the light. Awareness of our own sin drives us to Jesus.
