Saint Catherine of Genoa, born Caterina Fieschi Adorno in 1447, is a revered Italian Roman Catholic saint and mystic known for her compassionate work among the sick and impoverished. Coming from the noble Fieschi family, she dedicated her life and resources to caring for those afflicted, especially during the devastating plagues that struck Genoa in 1497 and 1501. She passed away in her beloved city in 1510.
