When the gospel is introduced to those whose worldviews have been shaped by culture and marred by sin, it can feel like the world is being turned upside down. In reality is was sin that did the turning upside down. The work of the gospel brings order into what has disordered in the world.

In this concluding message in the “We Believe” series on the Nicene Creed, we talk about how The Holy Spirit is God. When we know the Holy Spirit as He is revealed in Scripture, we will be equipped to depend on Him more deeply.

Words matter. It’s important to know how to properly articulate what we believe because not everyone who talks about Jesus is talking about the Jesus revealed in Scripture. The goal of the Christian life is to know Christ rightly, so we will worship Him rightly.

If we’re not series about truth, we run the risk of falling prey to society’s buffet of deceptive options that cater to cultural decline and false assumptions about God. When we know God rightly, then we will stand for God boldly.

Often times the most powerful witness to the gospel is not what you do when everything is going well; but how you respond when things go wrong. When the gospel forms you, God can use even dark moments to shine light through you.

When God opens your heart, He opens your life, and connects you to more open hearts for the gospel.

Sometimes, what seems like a closed door is not God stopping the mission. It’s simply God steering the missionary.

God uses ordinary moments (failures and all) to shape your life in order for Him to do extraordinary things through you for His glory.

Because Jesus is fully God and fully Man, he is fully capable.

Because Jesus became fully human, you can fully trust Him with your life.

Jesus is not just a good person who came to set an example for the way we should live and to teach us how to be human. Jesus is God in the flesh, and that reality has implications for the way we live and approach him.
