TotalCultZone Presents

This week, Me and Captain J watch a horror film produced by Cher and Directed by The guy from Powerman 5000. It's called Big Baby which is totally not a targeted attack of podcasters who just dump all over movies for clicks and likes... so instead of that we give a well rounded and thoughtfully constructed and considered review. I would usually put the press here, but I think I deleted the Ema...

This week, we've got a new film... Amazing right? what's even more amazing is that I've got Nona on the show and we're not watching garbage for once. This week Totalcultzone presents... Babystar (blue tick) A German movie about the perils of celebrity in the social media age. PRESS!!! Luca lives in a big house with her loving parents, and she has millions of followers on social med...

We all know how this is going to end as it's predetermined. I'm joined by Joe from Repeat or Delete and Dammit Vacant podcasts (but not Hallmark of Greatness) and John Atkins, Formerly Mr. TV "Hardcore" John Atkins, sometimes Ukulele teacher sometimes Ghost Tour guide to talk about "Kayfabe" A fake real movie about a fake real sport. A mid 00's mockumentary about the fabulous world of Pro-wrestlin...

The One with Lisa Kudrow Pt. 3 is our third and final dive into the world of movies featuring Lisa Kudrow, can't say "starring" anymore as it was pretty clear after the end of the phenomenon that was Friends that none of the main cast really had any juice when it came to big time movies roles (Aniston is debatable) so she's pushed back into supporting roles playing loving mums seducing teenagers a...

The One with Lisa Kudrow Pt. 2 is our second episode exploring the life and career of Lisa Kudrow — this time diving into the obscure, downright weird and thankfully forgotten side of her movie career. We all know her from Friends and her Hollywood "hits" like Analyze This, Dr. Dolittle 2 and Analyze That. But what about the films that slipped under the radar? First up is the bizarre indie oddity...

The One with Lisa Kudrow is the imaginative title we’ve come up with for our show about Lisa Kudrow because… well, it’s about Lisa Kudrow, and she was famously in the TV show Friends , which had episode titles like “The One with…” This is the first of three shows, and in this episode I tell Nona all about her early life and career, briefly going over how she went from curing headaches to being cre...

Lesbian Space Princess ... nuff said? maybe not, it's a title that popped into my inbox and I thought it was a totally unnecessary 4k remastering by Vinegar syndrome of a 70s softcore romp release, but it's a actually a brand new indie animated feature that is by the directors description " fresh, female driven and gay AF". I figured as I'm non of those things, I may need a little help. So Nona is...

TotalCultDocFest continues as me and Mark Plant from 100 things we learned form film talk about Football in Greenland. It's a funny old game! No Place for Football  is a feature documentary that explores perseverance, identity, and the unifying power of sport in one of the most remote regions on Earth. Set along the Arctic Circle, the film follows Nuuk-based football club, B67, as they naviga...

Sorry if your offended by this one you little snowflakes, but it's time we stood up to all this political correctness that going on in the world and, do something rebellious, like drink a beer and listen to George Clinton while having relations with a lady. Sarcasm mode all over this show folks, as I link up with Boo for another trip back to the 90s to cover THE MOST OFFENSIVE FILM OF 1994! Politi...

This week I'm joined by Philip Bedwell (he's never been in neighbours or Home and away) to talk about a few things, First his new role in BFI short Choke hold, then about fun fake fighting in films, Depressing realities of the real life fight world and eventually we stumble into Russell Crowe's new MMA movie Beast. It gets real spoilery real fast, so turn off when the trailer kicks in if you reall...

Nona and me once again review a movie where the poster features an open mouthed lady... it's a trend it seems, as is opening the film with "based on a true story" which we go into why that's not actually as smart as film makers think it is, especially when dealing with cults. Yeah! a cult film in the Total Cult Zone, one with a dead dog that's not a dead dog, an evil witch and some of the poorest...

Welcome to TotalCult DocFest 2026, I've had a lot of documentaries in my inbox of late, so many I figure I hold a mini series of them on the show. What better way to start off DocFest than a doc about a fest. Big thank you to Subjective for sending it over, check them out at www.subjectivemovies.com When a group of independent filmmakers attend ScorpiusFest, a small film festival in Park City, Uta...

Nona is made speechless for the first time, but is it due to the film or just the Werewolf dildo monster tickling a pickle? either way, this is an odd film that neither of us were expecting to have this reaction to. Touch Me  is psychosexual horror-comedy written and directed by  Addison Heimann . Two best friends become addicted to the heroin-like touch of an alien narcis...

Smelling like Monster Energy, spite, rage and a couple of old shelves. Nona and ThatFkingGuy (that is who I am) scratch and sniff our way through the the sights, sounds and smells of Dead Lover Following its World Premiere at Sundance, the film played at SXSW, Night Visions, TIFF, Edinburgh International Film Festival and Soho Horror Festival. Dead Lover  is a deliciously dark horror-comedy,...

Last time Mark(100 things we learned from film) was on, we talked about Thatcher, this time it's amazingly someone even worse than Thatcher. In fact, we're having a hard time trying to figure out who could be worse than this guy Based on the award-winning, bestselling book ‘ At the Wolf’s Table ’ by Rosella Postorino,  The Tasters  reconstructs the true story of the women coerced in...

Me and our Joe put on a little fill-um and enjoy life a little bit more because of it, even if Graysome White is in it This sweet and uplifting Irish road movie from filmmaker Michael Head ( Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire ) packs in the laughs as it follows Dermot ( Brenock O’Connor ) and Elvis ( Owen Colgan ), two music lovers who run a struggling record...

We were supposed to be talking about a film called "A beautiful break up" but ended up talking about 3 other films and, the state of the world we live in instead. WHY!? you'll find out when you listen Films covered instead: "Rental Family", Brendon Fraser is a token American in Hikari's low budget lost in translation feel good movie. To celebrate the shows return and, the holiest time of the year, myself and Nona watch and then talk about 2 films featuring a fella that rose from his grave. Along the way we talk about, terrible jobs, Baywatch, ill fitting dentures, 90s music, 90s fashion, musli and gangsta paradise... it's not a hummer bummer, it's a couple of Draculas Dracula 2000, the Nu-Metal fever dream with a young Gerard...

We're covering a film that lots of people have probably seen but not in this high a quality. The 25th anniversary of Dogma is being celebrated with a 4K release of the best (?) Kevin Smith film, now that he's got the rights back. Me and Captain J watch it and talk a little about the impact Kevin Smith has had on out worlds... it's not just that one scene, honest. Also as I thought there wouldn't b...

It's spooky season, so I handed the reigns of the show over to Nona, the person who digs through trash dumpsters for horrendous horror films, and challenged them to give me 3 decent ones that may have been overlooked. I do my best co-host impression by adding in things they remind me of, or random films that come to mind. Contributions from the socials also give us some fairly obscure movies you m...
