August 6, 2021, Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 06.08.2021 24:35
[Comment: Divine Splendor] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Feast day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The Transfiguration — the fourth Luminous Mystery — anticipates the glory of Heaven, where we shall see God face to face while enjoying eternal life. About a year before His Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension to Heaven, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and led them to Mo...
August 5, 2021, Memorial Day of Our Lady of Snow, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 05.08.2021 22:10
[Comment: Purity of Mary] Friends of the Rosary: Today, according to the Old Calendar, is the Memorial Day of Our Lady of the Snow, also known as St Mary Major, as a dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major in Rome. This feast commemorates the miracle of the snowfall that occurred during the night of August 4 in the year 358 on the site where the basilica now stands. According to traditi...

[Comment: Way of St. James II] Friends of the Rosary: In the medieval pilgrimage tradition of the Way of Saint James, religious and non-religious people have been walking for centuries in the search of the Truth. The end of the Camino is the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where the remains of St. James, who was responsible for bringing Christianity to Spain, are buried. The Way of S...

[Comment: Way of St. James] Friends of the Rosary: An important part of our faith is the tradition and the magisterium of the universal church — open to everyone, not only to Catholics. We all are branches of the mystical body of Jesus Christ, and we grow in Him. In Europe, the Old Continent, a great demonstration of fervor, repentance, charity, and culture is the Camino de Santiago , known in Eng...

[Comment: Joyful Witnesses] Friends of the Rosary: Jesus is the bread of life, the Holy One who truly gives us peace and joy. Knowing this, why do so many people prefer to embrace worldly ideas and practices? It’s difficult to understand why many choose not to be saved. In their pride, they exercise their freedom and adopt an anti-Christian way of life. You try to reason with them and you might on...

[Comment: Hidden Treasure] Friends of the Rosary: We mostly spend our busy lives worrying and making plans. Our modern society offers us many incentives intended to try new things, keeping us occupied in activities that go nowhere. Our greatest treasure in life is Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven. The Son of God Himself told us (Matt 13:44-46): “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure burie...
July 31, 2021, Memorial of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 31.07.2021 24:36
[Comment: Ignatius of Loyola] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial of St. Ignatius of Loyola. I’m in the city, Pamplona, in Spain, when the life of this great Spanish saint dramatically changed. In the year 1521, a cannonball fractured the left leg of Captain Ignatius Loyola. He was wounded at the siege of this city of Pamplona — a town that is part of the Camino. While he was convalescing...

[Comment: Long Road] Friends of the Rosary: Our modern society pushes us to be successful, notorious, and influential. To change the world, first, we need to be well known. However, the New Testament helps us to put our tangible reality into God’s eyes. In one of the week’s readings (Matt 20:26-28), Jesus Christ brought his view to us, to our surprise: “Whoever would be great among you must be you...
July 29, 2021, Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 29.07.2021 30:10
[Comment: She Serves] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial Day of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. Martha receives Jesus into her home and worries about serving Him. Her anxiousness is put into context by Jesus, who emphasizes the importance of contemplating Him before all things. Meanwhile, Martha’s sister, Mary seats beside the Lord’s feet, listening attentively to his words believing t...

[Comment: Latin Mass] Friends of the Rosary: Pope Francis and the Vatican authorities set this month new restrictions on the celebration of the Mass in Latin, the Tridentine Mass. This liturgical reform was a decision against traditional faithful devoted to the extraordinary form of the Mass. It also was a blow to the theological view of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who acknowledged the right of al...

[Comment: Harvest] Friends of the Rosary: Today’s reading (Mt 13:36-34) is so insightful and revealing about our collective destiny that the vast majority opt for not listening. This is regrettable, because as Jesus said, “Whoever has ears ought to hear.” The Son of God explains, at the request of the apostles, the parable of the weeds. In the world, Jesus Christ sows good seed. But then the Evil...
July 26, 2021, Memorial Day Sts. Joachim and Anne, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 26.07.2021 27:09
[Comment: Role Models] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial Day of Saints Joachim and Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and earthly grandparents of Jesus. In many places, today is also the world day to honor grandparents and the elderly. Saints Joachim and Anne educated Mary the Mother of Jesus, with love and devotion to God, teaching her the law. Beyond this, we know very little;...
July 25, 2021, Solemnity of St. James Apostle, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 25.07.2021 28:05
[Comment: Strength and Determination] Friends of the Rosary: We celebrate today, July 25, the Solemnity Day of St. James Apostle, or James the Greater, brother of St John the Evangelist, and one of the three apostles whom Jesus selected to bear witness to his Transfiguration. He also received the first apparition on the Virgin Mary when he was starting to preach the good news in the old Hispania....

[Comment: Good and Evil] Friends of the Rosary: The wheat and the weeds — meaning, the good and evil — grow together in our society. Can we uproot the evil spread by darkness without damaging the goodness of the eternal truth of Jesus Christ? That’s exceptionally difficult, as Jesus explains in today’s Gospel reading (Matthew 13:24-30). When the harvest time arrives, God's harvesters will collect...

[Comment: Expiation of Sins] Friends of the Rosary: The Sorrowful Mysteries provide us a unique perspective to deal with our earthly existence. It’s an unconventional, disruptive view in today’s society. It’s based on accepting suffering and struggle as an expiation of our personal and collective sins. If we follow Jesus, the Lamb of God, we carry our cross. There is no faith, peace, and joy witho...
July 22, 2021, Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 22.07.2021 28:52
[Comment: Great Love and Forgiveness] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Feast Day of Mary Magdalene. We honor a saint who stood with Mother Mary at foot of the Cross and she was the first recorded witness to the resurrection of Jesus. Before her conversion, Mary Magdalene was known for her sinful life, being a woman of the streets. She heard Jesus speak of the mercy and forgiveness of God and ch...

[Comment: In His Time] Friends of the Rosary: God’s ways are not our ways. The prophet Isaiah in 55:8 reflected Divinity’s view. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. This mismatch between our human ways and God’s disappoints many and even causes the loss of faith — the fruit of the first Glorious Mystery of today. This lack of faith means that...

[Comment: Silent Heroes] Friends of the Rosary: Yesterday Mark’s Gospel featured the crowd of Galileans as a sheep without a shepherd (Mark 6:30-34). How metaphorical is this multitude in the desert? It looks like we are a generation without shepherds — or, in modern language, without leadership. We have the best means and all kinds of resources, for the best outcome. But we are lost and lack guid...

[Comment: Need a Saint] Friends of the Rosary: Yesterday Mark’s Gospel featured the crowd of Galileans as a sheep without a shepherd (Mark 6:30-34). How metaphorical is this multitude in the desert? July 18, 2021, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 18.07.2021 28:11
[Comment: Merciful Call] Friends of the Rosary: A vast crowd of Galileans approached Jesus, looking for hope and truth. In the reading today (Mk 6:30-34), St Mark the Evangelist described these people “like sheep without a shepherd.” They were ordinary, often uncharitable, full of weaknesses, individuals. But Jesus Christ was moved with pity for them. He showed mercy and compassion for them. The E...

[Comment: Living Sacrifice] Friends of the Rosary: With her unconditional surrender to God in the Mystery of the Annunciation, the Virgin Mary opened for humanity the pathway to the eternal truth. Her divine Son, the new Adam, confirmed later that the authentic, fruitful life is based on carrying graciously the Cross. Christianity is based on imitating the virtues and sacrifices of Jesus and Mary....
July 16, 2021, Memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 16.07.2021 28:51
[Comment: Brown Scapular] Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial Day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In Spanish, la Vírgen del Carmen. On July 16, 1251, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, and gave him a Brown Scapular, with the following words: “This will be for you and for all Carmelites the privilege, that he who dies in this will not suffer eternal fire.” For over seven centuries,...

[Comment: Blocked] Friends of the Rosary: How often do we reject being open to the Holy Spirit? We are weak, and we mostly want to stay in control. But the fear of the uncertain ends up blocking up. As a result, we stay in a grey area, with no progress, discouraged, and in a dark mood. Anyway, we keep going, moving through our busy day. In the reality, it’s another wasted day. Deep down, we know i...

[Comment: Eternal Soul] Friends of the Rosary: As humans, our most precious property is our soul. We must take care permanently of our individual soul, which God created for eternity. It requires us to live vigilant, detecting and rejecting all threats and attacks from the Evil One and his collaborators on Earth. Yesterday, we heard about the vision of hell of the three shepherds of Fatima....
July 13, 2021, Third Apparition in Fatima, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 13.07.2021 29:21
[Comment: Sacrifice for Sinners] Friends of the Rosary: On July 13, 1917, in Fatima, Portugal, the Virgin Mary appeared for the third time to the three shepherd children, Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia. Lucia made a number of requests for cures, conversions, and other graces. Our Lady recommended the constant recitation of the Rosary to obtain those graces during the year. Then she went on: “Sacrif...
