July 6, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 06.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Pope Francis’ prayer intention for July refers to the Eucharistic celebration, with the elevation of the Host during transubstantiation — or the moment the bread becomes Christ’s body. "Let us pray that Catholics place at the center of their lives the Eucharistic celebration, which transforms human relationships and opens up an encounter with God and their brothers and...

July 5, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 05.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: The month of July is dedicated to the Precious Blood. We worship the Blood which the Lord shed for us on Calvary. By the words of Consecration the Blood of Christ is present on our altars. The early Fathers say that the Church was born from the pierced side of Christ and that the sacraments were brought forth through His Blood. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! To Jesus thro...

July 4, 2023, Independence Day, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 04.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress of the thirteen British colonies declared their independence from British rule. Since then, the United States has annually celebrated its independence on this day. The Declaration of Independence, signed that day in Philadelphia, stated: “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable right...

July 3, 2023, Feast of St. Thomas, Apostle, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 03.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the faithful celebrate the Feast of St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles. Thomas, who at first did not believe, saw the Man Christ, touched him, and acknowledged His divinity with the words:  “My Lord and my God.” Pope St. Gregory the Great made the following reflection: “Thomas’ unbelief has benefited our faith more than the belief of the other disciples; it is bec...

July 2, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 02.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: We read today in the Gospel of Matthew (10:37-42): Jesus said to his apostles: "Whoever loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever does not take up their cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their li...

July 1, 2023, Feast of St. Junípero Serra, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 01.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the Church in the United States celebrates the Memorial of St. Junípero Serra (1713-1784), the 18th-century Franciscan missionary who brought the true faith to the people of North America’s west coast. Junípero Serra, patron Saint of California, founded 21 missions and converted thousands of Native Americans. The first mission founded, after the nine-hundred-mile jour...

June 30, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 30.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the universal Church honors the nameless followers of Christ brutally killed by the wicked Emperor Nero in Rome. We celebrate the memorial of the first martyrs of the Holy Roman Church. The historians Tacitus and St. Clement of Rome tell of a night of horror (August 15, 64 A.D.) when in the imperial parks a great multitude of Christians was made into living torches to...

June 29, 2023, Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 29.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the two great apostles who are the rock on which the Church is built. Both Saint Peter and Saint Paul were martyred for their faith. Their deaths are a reminder of the cost of following Christ, but they are also a source of inspiration for Christians today. Sanctified by their martyrdom, they make...

June 28, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 28.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: There have always been false prophets. In our age, many of them try to invert the truth by presenting a twisted reality. They proclaim as right what is simply wrong. It is a direct denial against the Holy Spirit, a serious sin. We see this, especially regarding matters of life, family, and marriage. Today's reading ( Mt 7:15-20 ) addresses how the false prophets are iden...

June 27, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 27.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today’s reading in the New Testament (Mt 7:6, 12-14) warns us that road to eternal damnation is wide while the gate of Heaven is narrow. As Jesus said to his disciples: "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many." Our Lord revealed to us that the pathway to eternal life...

June 26, 2023, Feast of St. Josemaría Escrivá, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 26.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, one of the optional memorials refers to St. Josemaría Escrivá (1902-1975), the Spanish saint who founded the Opus Dei organization and opened a new path of holiness: sanctification by performing ordinary work and daily duties with a Christian spirit. Canonized as a saint on October 6, 2002, St. Josemaría Escrivá helped the faithful in all walks of life to sanctify the...

June 25, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 25.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In the Gospel today ( Mt 10:26-33 ), Jesus said to the twelve apostles: “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.” The soul, which puts us in contact with the living God and connects us with the divine power, lasts forever. It‘s our place of safety. Meanwhile, the body is...

June 24, 2023, Solemnity of Nativity of John the Baptist, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 24.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, the Precursor or Forerunner of the Lord. “Amongst those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist,”  Jesus said (Matthew xi, 10-12). Ordinarily, the Church observes the day of a saint’s death as his feast, because that day marks his entrance into he...

June 23, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 23.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In yesterday’s Gospel (Mt 6:7-15), Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer, which is on our lips and in our minds several times a day. The prayer asks that the Father’s will be done “on earth as it is in heaven,” so that He will reign here below as well. It’s a matter of heaven and earth coming together so that our human world will be filled with the knowledge and merciful love of G...

June 22, 2023, Feast of St. Thomas More, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 22.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: We remember today St. Thomas More, Chancellor of England and saint of God beheaded in the Tower of London in 1535. Thomas More was an intensely spiritual man, literary scholar, eminent lawyer, gentleman, and father of four children. Few saints are more relevant to our time. We honor his life and martyrdom. Thomas More refused to approve King Henry VIII's divorce and rema...

June 21, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 21.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Our Father in Heaven, who sees what is hidden, repays us for everything we do silently for others, Jesus reminds us in today’s Gospel according to Matthew (Mt 6:1-6, 16-18). When we give alms, pray, or fast, we shouldn’t seek people’s praise or approval. As Jesus said to his disciples,  “Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order for people to see them; otherwise, you...

June 20, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 20.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: To aim for perfection, in imitation of Jesus Christ, we have to pray for sinners and enemies, as Our Lord said to his disciples, and we are reminded today (Mt 5:43-48): “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Heavenly Father.” The Most Holy Virgin Mary revealed to us in Fatima that many souls are lost in Hell because there is...

June 19, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 19.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Reflecting upon the Gospel of yesterday (St. Matthew 9:36, 10:8), we realize that through the sacrament of Baptism, we were called to be apostles by preaching the message of Christ. In imitation of Jesus, we have to show compassion for sinners while rejecting sin. When Jesus saw the crowd  “he was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep...

June 18, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 18.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In today’s Sunday main reading ( Matthew 9:36—10:8 ), we see how  “Jesus’ heart was moved with pity for the crowd because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” Then he said to his disciples,  “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Jesus sent out his twelve apostles...

June 17, 2023, Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 17.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the Saturday after the Solemnity of Corpus Christi and one day after the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Immaculate Heart of Mary signifies her pure love for God, her maternal love for her Divine Son, and her motherly and compassionate love for her sinful children here below. Her Holy Heart reflect...

June 16, 2023, Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 16.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the Friday after the Second Sunday of Pentecost, the universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This powerful devotion points to the Sacred Heart as the fountain from which God’s love pours into our lives. It highlights Jesus’ infinite love for each of us during his life, Passion, and death on the Cross. It’s the fullness of love p...

June 15, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 15.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: While we prepare for the feast day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus tomorrow, we are invited to reflect on the mystery of forgiveness through the reading in the Gospel today ( Mt 5:20-26 ). "Go first and be reconciled with your brother," Jesus commanded his disciples. To enter the Kingdom of Heaven, we certainly have to reconcile with one another. We must forgive...

June 14, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 14.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: As faithful people, our light must shine for folks around us, Lord Jesus told us ( Mt 5:13-16 ): "Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father." We're His eyes, hands, and feet of Jesus, his committed disciples building the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. Through Baptism, we acquired the apost...

June 13, 2023, Second Apparition in Fatima, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 13.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the feast day of Saint Anthony of Padua, we also celebrate the Second Apparition of the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal, in June 13, 1917. In 1208, the Most Holy Virgin Mary appeared to St. Dominic and gave him the Rosary to achieve victory over a raging heresy. Seven centuries later, Our Lady of Fatima, asked the three shepherds children to recite the Rosary daily...

June 12, 2023, Beatitudes, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 12.06.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today in the New Testament, we hear Jesus’ passage of the Beatitudes (Mt 5:1-12). Our Lord went up the mountain not to receive the Law, as happened with Moses in the Old Testament. Jesus turns the universe upside down with the Beatitudes, a title that stems from the Latin noun  beātitūdō , meaning “happy”, “lucky,” or “blessed.” When He said,  “Blessed are the poor in spirit...
