Friends of the Rosary: Our greatest discovery in life should be to find the Kingdom of Heaven. See what Jesus said to his disciples ( Mt 13:44-46 ), as we read this Sunday in the Gospel of Matthew: “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like...

Friends of the Rosary: Today the Church celebrates the Memorial of Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus — three siblings living in the town of Bethany outside of Jerusalem. Martha generously offered Jesus hospitality, Mary listened attentively to his words and Lazarus promptly emerged from the tomb at the command of the Lord. In this household of Bethany, the Lord Jesus experienced the family spirit and...

July 28, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 28.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: All of the great theophanies in Christ’s life occurred during the course of prayer. After His baptism, for instance, when Jesus was praying the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove. Likewise, it was during prayer at night that the transfiguration took place on Tabor. During the Annunciation, it was while Mary was praying that Gabriel delivered h...

July 28, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 27.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: With heartened hearts, it's impossible to listen and understand the eternal truths. As Jesus said to His apostles, and we read today in the Gospel ( Mt 13:10-17 ): "You shall indeed hear but not understand, you shall indeed look but never see." "Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hea...

Friends of the Rosary: Today, July 26th, is the Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and also the grandparents of Jesus. In the home of Joachim and Anne the Virgin Mary was educated to be the Mother of God. Joachim was a prominent and respected man who had no children, and he and his wife, Anne, looked upon this as a punishment from God. In answer to their p...

Friends of the Rosary: Today, July 25th, is the Feast of St. James, the Apostle, known as Jame the Greater, to distinguish him from the other Apostle St. James, the Lesser. He is one of those that Jesus called  Boanerges , “son of thunder.” With Peter and John the Evangelist, his brother, he was one of the witnesses of the Transfiguration, as later he was also of the Agony in the Garden. He was be...

July 24, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 24.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: The eye-opening parable of the wheat and the weed (Matthew 13:24-43) that we read yesterday depicts the challenges of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. The Evil doer — the weed — cannot change his wicked nature. The Fallen Angels have been sinning since the beginning. They want to destroy as many souls as possible through sophisticated lies and snares. But the sinner men and w...

July 23, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 23.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: This Sunday’s reading is a masterpiece in the Gospel of St. Matthew (13:24-43):  "Just as the weeds are collected and burned up with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailin...

July 22, 2023, Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 22.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, the “Apostle to the Apostles”, eyewitness to the Risen Christ, and the first to announce the good news of the Resurrection of the Lord before the disciples. "I have seen the Lord." She stood with Mary at the foot of the Cross and had been by the side of Mary during these agonizing hours. Mary Magdalene was from Magdala, a s...

July 21, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 21.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: God the Son took human nature so that we might share in the divinity. Representing all men, Christ Jesus gave perfect obedience and reverence to the Creator the Father  “even unto death on a cross,”  and thus merited sonship for us. God the Father created us with the intention and plan to raise us up so we can meet Him in His eternal joy and glory. The Holy Spirit — the “fru...

July 20, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 20.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Through the Incarnation, we become adopted sons of God. Through Baptism, we become members of Christ's body, His Catholic Church. And through the Sacrament of Confirmation, we are made active members of the Church. The Holy Spirit comes to us with his gifts and graces to enable us to work for the whole body of Christ, as we pray in the first Luminous mystery today. We ar...

July 19, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 19.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: If we allow ourselves to be driven solely by our earthly desires and passions, we will experience spiritual death and suffer all kinds of misery and anxiety. However, if we surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit we will overcome the sinful tendencies of human nature. We will find true life and spiritual fulfillment. It’s a call to live virtuously by embracing...

July 18, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 18.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: God wants to hear our prayers. And perseverance in pleading is necessary. It trains us spiritually and makes us more grateful. Also, praying in union with others, being submissive to God's will, has a special efficacy. "If two of you shall agree on earth about anything at all for which they ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in heaven" (Mt 18:19). Last...

Friends of the Rosary: Becoming a disciple of the Lord Jesus is a tough choice, yet the righteous decision for our soul here on Earth and in Eternity. Christ invites us to put Him at the center of our lives. This doesn't mean that we abandon our families, businesses, identity, or material possessions. All of these things are good but come second. It's a realignment of our existence. In thi...

July 16, 2023, Feast of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 16.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, July 16th, we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The origin of the devotion can be traced back to the 12th century when a group of hermits settled on Mount Carmel in present-day Israel. These hermits eventually formed the Carmelite order, dedicating themselves to a life of prayer and contemplation. The scapular, known as the "Brown Scapular of Our L...

July 15, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 15.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: At that time, Jesus predicted to his Apostles (Mt 10:16-23): "You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved." "Beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans." A vast numb...

July 12, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 12.07.2023

With these powerful words, Lord Jesus announced the nearness of God’s reign and invited us to enter into a relationship with Him. The Kingdom of Heaven is not a distant reality. It’s the arrival of God&#3...

July 11, 2023, Memorial of St. Benedict, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 11.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial Day of St. Benedict of Nursia (480-547), who created Western monasticism. This sixth-century saint would greatly affect spiritual and monastic life in Christendom for centuries to come. He wrote his famous Benedict Rule prescribing common sense, a life of moderate asceticism, prayer, study, and work, and community life under one superior. It stressed ob...

July 10, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) | Rosary from San Fermin Festival in Spain 10.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: God always answers our prayers as long as they are intended to bring good things for us. However, our prayers may not be heard due to our personal disposition, our lack of faith, love, and humility. Whenever Christ performed a miracle, He demanded faith as a prerequisite. On one occasion the apostles could not heal a possessed body; to their queries, Jesus said, "Becaus...

July 9, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 09.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: God chooses little ones and prepares them to be saints. Lord Jesus reveals himself to the humble of heart and childlike in spirit, those who approach God with simplicity and openness. As Jesus exclaimed at the time — and we read in the Gospel today ( Mt 11:25-30 ): "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from th...

July 8, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 08.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: At the Rosary Network, we try to pray fervently and perseveringly. We ponder Christ's words: "Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives." We might have doubts concerning these words, yet we place our needs before God in prayer. Lord Jesus knows better what we truly need and wh...

July 7, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 07.07.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In yesterday’s main reading of the Gospel (Mt 9:1-8), Lord Jesus healed a paralytic and forgave his sins. The scribes, harboring evil thoughts, went against Jesus. Christ wants to open a better life to us by liberating us from the slavery of sin. God knows our potential and wants us wise and joyful. Sin is our rejection to live according to God’s purpose and will. Sin paraly...
