Our first ESPN 30 for 30.  This week we watched Fantastic Lies directed by Marina Zenovich about the Duke Lacrosse team accused of a horrendous sexual assault, the court case that followed and the fallout that came from it.

In a world where corporate is king what does it mean to have armies privatised.  Shadow Company explores the growing business of Private Military Companies (PMC's). 

What is better than gratuitous violence, nudity, outrageous stunts, wild plots and a whole ton of Aussies? Absolutely nothing.  The Dudes discuss Not Quite Hollywood a documentary about the Australian Exploitation films of the 1970's and 80's.  If you're into all that then this doc is absolutely for you.

Have you ever doubted the earth you live on is flat.....no? Okay continue on to this episode and we can all laugh at the bat shit crazy theories together!

This week were talking about grafitti! We watched Doug Prays documentary about 6 well known grafitti artists.

Well if you've ever wanted to be grossed out into never eating meat again this is the doc for you! Joaquin Phoenix narrates this powerful doc about how we as humans treat the animals that co-habitate the earth with us.

This 2000 doc from Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato explores the life of televangelist Tammy Faye Messner (Bakker) with some back story on her ex husband Jim Bakker and their PTL network.  If you're a follower of the podcast you know how the Three Dudes feel about religion so get ready for a wild ride.

Billy Corben's follow up to the original Cocaine Cowboys tells the story of Charles Cosby and Griselda Blanco.

This week the dudes watched Schooling The World: The White Mans Last Burden and well.....lots of complex feelings come out during this one.

How far will kindness take you? In order to answer this question you should most certainly watch this short doc from Johnny Burke and Andrew Hinton.  It's short but will leave you wanting more.  Beautiful visuals, captivating story and good feels all around.

Way back to 2001 when life was simple and you could make millions screwing people out of their retirement savings.  This week the dudes watched the Alex Gibney doc Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room about the rise and fall of Enron in the early 2000's.  Once again Gibney hits another homerun as a documentarian.

Time to Start Me Up again as we jump into our 2nd Rolling Stones documentary will this one be better than Cocksucker Blues? Will we be just as disappointed? Will Mick Jagger still be strutting around the stage....well we all know the answer to that one.

Its a bird! Its a plane!........It's a bunch of people dressed as super heroes? The dudes watch Confessions of a Superhero about 4 people who make a living dressing as super heroes for pictures with tourists on Hollywood Blvd.  It is a strange, sometimes sad watch that you just can't turn away from.

Well this definitely was some kind of monster.  Mitch, Tyler and Christian dive into the 2004 documentary Some Kind of Monster about Metallica during the production of their studio album St. Anger.  Trigger warning if you're a Metallica fan....the dudes certainly are not.

Basketball fan or not you have to watch this smash hit 1994 documentary.  It changed the way Oscar voting was done for documentaries and showed a side of the sport not many people have seen before.  A long emotional journey of triumph and defeat.

What makes genocide more digestible? Lavish musical numbers? Hollywood re-enactments? In this 2012 documentary director Josh Oppenheimer shows the 1960's Indonesian genocide of "communists" in a different way by getting the perpetrators of the genocide to re-enact their murders.

We broke the rules for this one....was it worth it?  Join Matt Green while he embarks on his massive walking project and see NYC like you've never seen it before.  Boiling down every day life to the fine minute details that most of us miss.

What do we have to do to never watch another documentary about torture ever again? Well here we have it Errol Morris' 2008 documentary about the prisoner abuse at US Military prison Abu Ghraib in Iraq.  The story made worldwide headlines and this documentary features interviews with some of the central players in the scandal.

What makes a great documentary, or film....or anything really? At the centre of everything is a great story.  Director Sarah Polley nails the essence of what makes a good documentary and that is a great story.  It's not mind blowing, or earth shattering but it is a good story told extremely well.  If you're a fan of story telling this is the documentary for you.  

Another doc.....another tough subject matter.  This week the guys watched Just Melvin, Just Evil (2000) about director James Ronald Whitneys family and the history of abuse at the hands of Melvin Just his grandmothers 2nd husband.
