Big TW!! I try to process the upsetting news about the new Texas abortion laws. Are these people truly incapable of empathy and emotional intelligence? Or can we help these people be reasoned with? This seems to me to be another case against vertical hierarchy and the need for anarchic communities.

Today, I ramble on about the problem of compulsory schooling and our education system, how to make it better, and being frustrated with feeling like I can't help my siblings much. Today I throw some ideas in the air about how the world is interconnected, how ideas such as language and domains are made up, and how we can make a better society by building systems, technologies, and hierarchies where people have power With but not power Over. Freedom is best when we each can do what we want without fear of somebody else forcefully constraining that freedom.

Catching you all up on my week!! Talking about my newsletter, struggling with implementing my ambitious concepts for the Black Ignite talk, and then I share some feedback I want to give them as well.

I'm not high! But I probably do sound crazy as I reflect on the infinite complexity of a blade of grass and life in general. I wax on about how even the most boring or mundane things and stories could hold an finite amount of detail. I even go on to refute Lex Fridman's idea that death and suffering is necessary to appreciate the beauty of life.

I done thunked 'bout Free Will again taday.... 🤣 But frfr. I think figuring out if free will is an illusion or should be redefined is one of the most important problems to (try to) solve. Not only will it allow us to better understand consciousness, but it will empower us to build better societies, systems, and have more compassion for our fellow humans and life in general.

Today I Finally create my Mission according to this great episode by Hal Elrod https://halelrod.com/hal-elrod-commit-to-your-mission/. I walk through much of his advice and share my own goals, value, and mission.

I quickly go through some of my thoughts on Lex Fridman's interview with Jeff Hawkins https://youtu.be/Z1KwkpTUbkg and then dive into ideas around capitalism and doughnut economics https://time.com/5930093/amsterdam-doughnut-economics/ and point out how a lot of ideas around capitalism are more propoganda than facts.

I recount my experience this weekend around the retreat. I harp on the frustrating experience of renting a car without a credit card (FIY! I didn't discover Avail and Zipcar until After I got to the retreat, and Turo was way too expensive). I then share the misadventures of our off-grid living and how enlightening it was to see how such a living situation could work.

Yesterday, I watched the WeWork documentary on Hulu with my SO. I talk about how wild it is that people are so easily manipulated into not just blindly following, but giving undue opportunities to on the basis of how 'charming' and 'confident' they seem. I talk about how this focus on excessive work, excuse of harassment and, rampant discrimination creates an inherently exploitive and myopic cultu...

If we can achieve relativistic speeds (>90% the speed of light), we could theoretically reach anywhere in the galaxy or beyond within one hundred years or less... But thousands or even millions of years would pass back on the home planet. This means that aliens should be everywhere... But maybe they don't care to colonize or visit planets at all! Maybe they rather just sit around and wait... Here...

I talk about the 3 shows I watched recently on Netflix: Seis Manos, Legend of Exorcism, and The Daily Life of the Immortal King. I then go into talking about my ideas for my new, faux-3D portfolio website and building my personal brand.

Creativity is a human thing, not a specialist thing. I go into a bit of a rant about how important it is for everyone to feel creative and be able to express themselves and their dreams. I then recount my weekend and end with my desire reorganize my schedule.

I try to work through my money problems by gaining some perspective, criticizing capitalism ... And talking about my virtual commune idea.

Today's episode is very... ruminative,... exploratory, and inconclusive. I try to work through my feelings and worries and struggles. I try to figure what makes games so fun and life so... not. Not Just Bikes made some great videos about some research the Strong Towns nonprofit organization found about car-centric cities. They showed how absolutely terrible, unhealthy, inefficient, ugly, unAmerican, financially wasteful, and all around stupid it is to build cities around cars instead of people. I share what I learned about Emotion Wheels and emotional maturity. I also go deep(er than expected) into my problems with Jordan Peterson. In short, I think his ideas on IQ and power structures are inherently biased, limited, and myopic.
