On this day in 1987 the Sixers lost to the Nets 113-109 in a game where the Nets retired Dr. J's ABA jersey. In 1989 Pete Rose was officially outed for gambling on the baseball. We spotlight Kevin Allen.

On this day in 1992 the Phillies traded Jason Grimsley to the Astros for Curt Schilling who spent 9 years in Philly helping to lead them to the 93 NL Pennant. We spotlight Keith Byars.

On this day in 1985 the Villanova Wildcats completed the greatest Cinderella story in NCAA Tournament history, beating the Georgetown Hoyas 66-64 to win the National Championship. We spotlight Leroy Keyes.

On this day in 1998 the Phillies lost to the Mets 1-0 in 14 innings. The game is the longest scoreless Opening Day game in National League history. We end our Women's History Month spotlight with Linda Page, arguably the best basketball player to ever come out of Philly.

On this day in 1991 the Nets beat the Sixers 98-95 in OT but the big story was Charles Barkley, while attempting to spit at a heckler missed and hit a little girl. The incident changed the Barkley handled his career moving forward. We spotlight Vivian Stringer.

On this day in 1979 Cinderella turned into a pumpkin as Michigan State beat Penn 101-67 in the Final 4. Some sophomore named Earvin Johnson had a triple-double for the Spartans. Not sure what happened to that kid. We spotlight Claire Smith.

On this day in 1979 the Sixers played a quasi-doubleheader vs Nets. They played the final minutes of the 3rd and 4th quarter of a protest replay along with their regularly scheduled game. A double shot on a Wednesday. On this day in 1960 the Warriors and Celtics combined for an NBA playoff record 169 rebounds in a game the Warriors won 128-107. In 1984 the Flyer set a franchise record for goals scored in a game, beating the Penguins 13-4. We spotlight Carli Lloyd.

On this day in 2004 it was the end of an era. Veteran's Stadium was demolished to make room for parking at Citzen's Bank Park. Yes it was a dump but it was our dump. We spotlight Cathy Rush.

On this day in 1934, Olympic champion Babe Didrickson pitched a hitless 1st inning in an exhibition for the Philadelphia Athletics against the Brooklyn Dodgers. She would pitch a few days later for the Cardninals with not nearly as much success. We spotlight Candice Dupree.
