Welcome to The Zest Method® channel. Why Zest? On a sunny beach in Montenegro back in 2022, my best friends and I had to sum each other up in one word. The word given to me was: zest - I had a “zest for life”. This resonated, so since then I’ve been working on a methodology of how to make vitality contagious. I’m Amelia - an Ex Army Doctor & Founder - with an insatiable curiosity about self-betterment and the subconscious mind. I intend, through this medium, to share what I learn and hopefully help humans feel better; not perfect. Website: thezestmethod.co

There is so much contradictory information out there about fasting, cycle tracking, what workouts women should do around their period and it's all very confusing. So, here to bust some myths is Dr Lamia - an obs & gynae consultant in women's elite sport.

RED-S: Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport - Dr Lamia 29.06.2026

RED-S or formerly known as the Female Athlete Triad doesn't just happen in athletes - both women and men (albeit less so) are susceptible to this when there is an imbalance in the calories going out vs calories coming in. I discuss this phenomenon in detail with Dr Lamia Zafrani - the only sports obstetrics & gynaecology consultant in the UK!!! Hope you enjoy this episode just as much as I...

Multimodal Relaxation Method (long version) 08.06.2026

Yoga nidra, non-sleep deep rest, calm, headspace, 112 different types of meditation...we're not short of relaxing videos, so here is another one. A relaxation method I learned during one coaching course I undertook. Listen to it before sleep, when you're stressed about something or anytime really. RE-LAX.

Do You Struggle To Focus? 01.06.2026

“Take a simple idea and take it seriously“, Charlie Munger. We are bombarded with so much external stimuli these days that is it really difficult to focus. Inattention at a societal level is becoming a real issue and technology, phones, and social media have a lot to do with it. We find it a struggle to truly achieve what we want because get so distracted by side quests, tik tok and notifications...

Are You Lonely? 18.05.2026

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy - "died of a broken heart syndrome". This is a real phenomenon because loneliness is far more potent than you think and has deleterious effects on your heart. This episode covers the physiological changes that happen inside our bodies when we are devoid of human interaction, as well as some tips on how to boost those oxytocin levels.

Polyvagal Theory - Part 2 11.05.2026

The founder of the Polyvagal Theory is Dr Stephen Porges and he based his thesis around 3 core pillars: (a) the autonomic ladder ; (b) neuroception ; (c) co-regulation. Dr Laura Elliott take a deeper dive into the latter two in part 2 of this episode.

What on earth is Polyvagal Theory? 27.04.2026

Feeling bloated, wired and tired or had a flare up in your eczema recently? The western medical system is siloed and likes to put certain symptoms into neat, little boxes but sometimes we present to the doctor with a myriad of unexplainable systems - why? Well, in this episode with Dr Laura Elliot explains how the nervous system could be to blame.

Time Management For Mortals 20.04.2026

Inspired by the book ‘Time Management for Mortals’ by Oliver Burkeman, Dr Perry and I in part 2 of this episode dissect what we took away from this book and discuss our opposing views. To become more efficient in this already fast-paced modern society is a fool’s game (yes, that does make me a fool too) and will only result in burnout, so we also cover how to stop moving the goal posts and adopt a...

What Do You Actually Want? 13.04.2026

My guest for today's show: Dr Perry. When you stop and think about it, what do you really want from life? If you were to strip everything back and drill down to what truly matters - how would you live your life differently? Goal setting/January/New Year resolutions have been and gone but there's always next monday. Have a listen to this episode and see what small changes you can make in yo...

10 Days In Mental Prison 06.04.2026

What 10 days in mental prison felt like... I was looking forward to a nice "meditation retreat" for ten days to just take a break from life; however, didn't quite realise how intense a course in vipassana meditation would actually be. 100 hours of meditating in 10 days is no small feat, not to mention we weren't allowed to talk to anyone either! This experience was one of the har...

Ep 1 - Rejected By A Girl 25.03.2026

“ Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better ” - a quote is by Samuel Beckett, the Irish playwright and novelist. Rejection is part of life, however, that doesn't necessarily mean it gets any easier. Facing adversity can sometimes lead to growth and on this occasion it led me to explore my values. What really matters to you, and by what values do you want to live yo...
