In our series When in Romans, making good choices is a central theme of scripture. Paul says, however, that our own willpower is not sufficient to enable us to fully follow God's will. We need a power beyond us.

  In our series When in Romans, we are called to choose whom we shall serve. We all have to serve somebody. Paul says it’s the end of sin’s reign, so plant the flag, claiming territory for God’s kingdom, and help God put the world to rights again.

Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday, recognizing our One God in Three Persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. This is the only Sunday on the church calendar that is devoted to a doctrine or an article of faith. At the end of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus sends his disciples into the world to make new disciples of Jesus and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
