What sustains you in moments of crisis? What should you do when you feel that everything is against you? You may turn in a number of directions, but only when you look up will you recover from your brokenness and pain as you restore your trust and confidence in God.

God is a refuge to those who place their trust in Him. We live in a culture that recognizes no absolutes and finds biblical morality unacceptable. This can be disturbing until we remember that while they may repudiate God’s leadership and seek to ignore His sovereignty, He is in control, and they are in His hands.

Some questions are so important that they need to be answered before any real understanding can be achieved. The teachings of Jesus enable us to walk with Him through His public ministry and learn what He said and what He did so we can answer the question that will make the most significant difference in our lives.

In a season of uncertainty, or when something happens that you didn’t anticipate, how can you know you are making wise choices and are headed in the right direction? As we begin to walk and grow in the power of God, we can rest in the assurance that the Holy Spirit will guide and direct us in the way we should go.

Romans 8 provides the ABCs of the Christian life. It teaches us how to live as God intended, and it contains the welcome news that God has done for us, in Christ, what we could not do for ourselves. He has set us free from both the penalty and the power of sin.

Wise parents soon learn that God’s way isn’t complicated, but it is costly! Parents who want their children to have lives that are worthwhile and fulfilling will discipline in love, let kids experience the results of poor choices, and recognize that their goal as parents is to help their kids grow to experience all that God intended for them.

Distractions can be detrimental to family health. Kids need both the time and focused attention of their parents. Successful parents know how important it is to create and take advantage of timely opportunities to connect with their kids.

Jesus issued severe warnings to anyone who would harm a child or cause him to stumble. When parents love their children unconditionally and provide the discipline and instruction they need, they help them grow into the men and women God created them to become.

As the foundational cornerstones of our culture crumble around us, it is more important than ever for men and women to know how to hit the center of the target in the way they parent their children. Parents have the highest calling in the world, and they exercise that calling by helping their children find and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Today’s world is filled with uncertainty and danger, so it is not surprising when people feel helpless at times. But if you are a child of God you can be confident that, whatever happens, He has you in the palm of His loving and capable hand.

Stand at the foot of the Cross and you will see how great the love of God is for us. He is sufficient for every situation in life, He meets our needs, and He provides the comfort that will sustain us in times of suffering and loss.

Fear may convince us that God is not present in times of danger, and that He will not - or cannot - help us. Our problem is one of focus. Turn your thoughts toward God, and you you will remember Who He is and how he works in the lives of those who trust in Him.

In times of crisis, God equips His children to minister to their families and community as they become the hands and feet of Jesus in extraordinary ways. As we feed the hungry, comfort the afflicted, and encourage the broken-hearted, we fulfill - as at no other time - our God-given assignment.

It takes a lot of strength to swim against the tide of our culture. But that is precisely what biblical marriage requires. God has a plan for marriage, and when we understand and live according to that plan, we will be in a right relationship with God and with our mate.

Gradualism is a frightening word. It refers to what happens when we move away from operating on the basis of the wisdom God provides for us. To combat gradualism, return to the blueprint God has given us that contains the instructions we need for victorious daily living.

One of the greatest challenges of our culture is that, as a people, we have lost our sense of the holiness of God. The solution: Don’t put God in a box! Draw near to Him, listen to Him, and invite Him to occupy the place He desires – and deserves - to have in your life.

Sometimes God’s grace comes to us in the form of discipline. If we fail to listen to God when He whispers to us in love, He may force us to listen when He shouts to us in discipline. But God is also in the business of forgiveness. When we return to Him, His amazing grace will restore us, heal us, and bless us for His service.

There are defining moments in every life. Depending on how we respond to them, our lives thereafter may be forever changed. As we encounter those defining moments, we can trust God to lead us in the direction that honors Him and equips us to make a difference in the lives of others.
