We live in a society that increasingly seeks to undermine the very foundations of our Judeo-Christian faith. When the need to penetrate the darkness and stand firm against the evil in our culture is so great, why does the church appear to be silent? What should members of the family of God be prepared to do?

When we consider the Cross of Jesus, we begin to understand just how much God loves us. It is the power of the Cross that enables us to return good for evil and to forgive our enemies. Jesus on the Cross won the victory over evil forever.

If there was ever a time for boldness, it is now! In the battle we’re in, light armor will not do. Be fully clothed in the armor of God so you can defeat evil and be a difference-maker in your culture, your home, and in your sphere of influence.

If God loves us, why does He allow us to experience pain and suffering and to grapple with the consequences of evil in our world? The short answer is that His ways are higher than our ways and His agenda is beyond ours. The good news is that, in every trial we encounter, we can know that He is right there with us in the middle of our suffering.

We live in a celebrity-loving culture that values fame, reputation, and name recognition. As we seek to serve on God’s team, we must recognize that the values that truly matter – servanthood, accountability, trustworthiness, and justice – may make us subject to criticism and even ridicule.

To prevent this, we must have a clear understanding of who we are in Christ, what we are to do, and how we are to live. God makes available to us, through His Holy Spirit, the very mind of Christ. Imagine what that is like, and how this can transform your daily walk, your vocabulary, your habits, and your relationships. What an amazing gift is ours when we have the wisdom of God, which is the very mind of Christ.

The world may applaud prestige, power, and wealth, but God has leveled the playing field through His Son, who embodied both the wisdom of God and the power of God. Through His sacrificial death on the Cross, Jesus made new life available to all who receive it, and provided our only basis for boasting.

Of the thousands of promises in the Bible, how many of them have you claimed? In other words, how willing are you to take God as His word? To receive the promises of God we need to believe not only what He says, but trust that He will do what He has promised and have confidence that He cannot fail.

Forgiveness is at the very heart of the Lord’s Prayer. To stay right with God, we need to ask for forgiveness when we have missed the mark or gotten off course. Then, as we receive the grace of God, we need to offer grace to others.

You may have encountered people who believe that there are many roads and many paths to heaven and that it doesn’t matter which one you take as long as you are sincere. But those who are in Christ know that there is only one way to Heaven, a way that was planned by God, prepared by God, and provided by God through His Son.

Because God wants us to live with confidence in this life and have assurance of eternal life with Him, He has given us all the evidence we need that Jesus is who He claims to be. Jesus came out of the light of eternity to enter the darkness of this world that we can know that we are members of the family of God.

Love is encompassed in who God is, what He has done for us, and what He continues to do. When our walk is consistent with what we profess, others will know what love is because they will see it demonstrated in how we live. The Holy Spirit in us helps us model the kind of love the world has never seen and cannot comprehend.

Can we know when a choice we make is consistent with God’s will? How can we discern when something is valid and true and will stand up to the pressures of life? God’s Word has given us several tests and resources that will help us know for certain that our decisions are based on biblical truth.

Nothing is hidden from God and there is no comfortable middle ground for those who embrace the worldview of a Christ-follower. To do so means you may often be misunderstood or unpopular, and you will go against the flow of the culture. But you will also experience the incomparable joy of knowing your life is pleasing to God.

When God’s Word tells us to do something, it always gives us the reason why. While change may occur in a moment, godly character is developed over time as we obey those commands that make a difference in how we live, affect the way we relate to others, and help us face the future with confident expectation.

We are in a battle in which the enemy uses whatever means possible to keep us from walking in the light and walking in the truth. Only when we remember that this world is temporary can we resist the enemy’s lies, refuse to compromise, and walk consistently and victoriously in the reality of eternity.

The better we understand who Jesus is, the better able we become to trust that what He has done on our behalf has truly set us free. No matter what He calls us to do, we wlll also have the assurance that He will give us the capacity to do it.

Far too many people create their own false image of God, and this is the God they worship. In order to see God clearly, and to know how He sees us, we must walk in the light of His Word so we can have a real, vibrant and living relationship with Him.

Have you ever responded, “I think so,” or “I hope so” when asked about your understanding of God and His love for you? If so, you can experience true joy when you learn to replace doubt with belief, and confusion or uncertainty with understanding.

The word “faith” is one of the most misunderstood words in the Bible! Far too often we limit ourselves by focusing on the size of our faith, when what matters is the object of that faith. Little faith can become strong when you place that faith in God, then allow Him to take it and use it to do amazing things in and through you.

So many of us are lost in life because of our foolishness, carelessness, or selfishness. Even our nation has wandered away from God and is lost. Discover how our Heavenly Father handles our lostness through three parables of Jesus in one of the greatest chapters in the Bible, Luke 15.

Love your neighbor as yourself. That is one of the greatest commandments, but how do we determine in today’s culture where to expend our time, energy, or money? In other words, how big a circle should we draw around ourselves in order to identify those we include as our neighbors?
