The guys sit down with Kelso High School Alum and long time coach Joe Kinch. Joe's a great guy, coach and long-time advocate and asset for WIBCA. 

They guys recently sat down and recorded an Episode with reigning 1A State Champion Coach of Lynden Christian, Tim Zylstra. Coach Zylstra is an alum of Lynden Christian and has been a coach in the program for several years. He took the helm in the 2021-22 season and in his 5 years has won 3 state championships. 

Kellen sits down with WIBCA Hall of Famers Joe Harris (Bridgeport & Chelan-Retired) & Pat Fitterer (Highland, Sehome, Eisenhower, Ellensburg-Retired). The guys talk about short turn-around games in playoffs and how to prepare for that. They also talk about end of season planning and closing out things with players before the State Tournament is over.

The guys sit down with Chad Herron, the head coach at Chiawana High School in Pasco, WA. Chad has over 30 years of coaching experience, including being the only head coach in Chiawana's history (school was created 2009). Before Chiawana, Chad was the head coach at his alma mater, Pasco High. Chad's teams are always well-coached and a great challenge for opponents. 

Part 2 with Columbia-Burbank head coach, Todd Schumacher!

The guys sit down with Todd Schumacher, head coach at Columbia-Burbank. Columbia-Burbank was the WIAA 2025 2B State Champions. Todd comes from a long line of Tri-City basketball and coaching. He's a great coach and great person. 

They guys sit down with UW Associate Head Coach, Andy Hill. We have a great conversation where coach Hill outlines his journey from a high school player at Freeman High School outside of Spokane, WA to now being a part of the University of Washington's Basketball Coaching staff. Coach Hill also offers insight to prospective college coaches and recruiting advise for high school players. 

We sit down with WIBCA board member & Sunnyside High School head coach, Bruce Siebol. Bruce is the epitome of class. His teams compete hard and are always a tough opponent. He earned his 300th win this past season, highlighting his consistency of success. Congrats to Bruce! The WIBCA Coaches Clinic is Saturday, September 27th. Mark your calendars everyone!

The guys sit down with Head Coach of St. George's of Spokane, Ryan Peplinski. Ryan's teams are consistently competitive and often finish their seasons on Saturday in Spokane at the B Tournament. In the 2023-24 season, Ryan earned is 400 career win. Ryan is heavily involved in growing the game in the state with his help with WIBCA. 

We go into the library for this one. Prior to the season this year, the guys sit down with former head coach at North Kitsap (resigned) and 2025 WIBCA Hall of Fame Inductee. Scott's son Cade also is a freshman at Gonzaga. Scott led North Kitsap to many years of success in his tenure at the helm.

Nalin and Pat also give advice to coaches who season comes to an end and ways to prepare for this summer and next year. 

Pat & Connie sit down with Washington state's 2024 John Wooden Award recipient, Gavin Cree of Mercer Island High School. The guys talk hoops along with Gavin's view of being the coach to follow Ed Pepple -  who coached for over 40 years at Mercer Island and has the most wins in WA State history, 

Pat & Connie sit down with one of the more legendary father and son coaching duos in Washington State: Pat & Mike Mullen. This episode is a treat because Mike, one of the founding fathers of the coaching association, provides a history of WIBCA. 

In this episode we have the pleasure of having Coach Brian Roper on the podcast. Coach Roper is the epitome of class and his Lynden teams have had sustained success, including 7 state championships. We had fun with this one!

We sit down with former Arlington HS head coach Nick Brown. Nick retired from coaching this past spring. Nick had sustained success and relevance at Arlington. He is also very active in WIBCA and has spoken several times at WIBCA clinics. His energy is contagious and it was a great conversation. The episode went long , so there are 2 parts. 

In part 2 with Nick Brown, we focus more on life after retiring from coaching this past spring and moving into a more mentor type role. Nick also offers valuable advice for new or upcoming coaches.

We sit down with former Mountlake Terrace High School head coach & current Executive Director of WIBCA, Nalin Sood. In part 1, we discuss Nalin's coaching career as he reflects back on his time at Mountlake Terrace High School. Nalin retired this past spring after 24 years at the helm.
