The Weekly Pint

It gets a little frustrating sometimes - there are a lot of projects that I'm in the middle of that I REALLY want to talk about on this podcast but can't because they aren't far enough long - or the details are still being worked out. It's all top secret sometimes... but we can still have a drink together!

There are a ton of great things happening pretty much every weekend here in Cincinnati's craft beer scene, and this weekend was no exception, with a couple of anniversary parties that I "had" to make my way out to. That means that I had a couple of great beers that I want to talk about!

The news that 16 Lots might be closing their doors soon means that it's a great week to head down there and do a show. I sat down with Chris Mitchell and Del Hall to talk about what's happening, and what we might be able to do about it!

What better way to celebrate a show that is always live's 200th episode, than by making it EVEN MORE LIVE? We headed out to West Side Brewing to get together and do the same thing we do together every Monday night... Drink!

On this week's episode I finally tackle it... the ULTIMATE Cincinnati Oktoberfest Beer. I take every single packaged local Oktoberfest beer, and I mix them all together into the perfect blend... then I shove a red-hot poker in it... because why not? It was live, it was a special pop-up episode... it was a ton of fun!

I had a few really great things to drink this week, including an excellent cocktail down at the Merchant's Club in The Party Source and a couple of cocktails at a bar that I just found over in West Chester... which certainly kicks off this week's discussion nicely! If you remember, back to the Spring of 2023, things started out hectic - it started with a pretty crappy website crash that led me to take a month off to rebuild, recoup and relaunch everything. Some weeks, some months, some years, are just... chaotic. This is one of those weeks! This time of year, we're hit hard with all the big stout releases... and after a chilly weekend "camping" with the family - I'm ready for it!

It's been a wild week, and as we wrap up Oktoberfest Quest, and head right into Beer, Booze, and Bonks, I think it calls for a beer or two!

I'm getting desperate for a normal week to get caught up on all the stuff that I feel like I'm falling behind on. Treading water... but with a beer in my hand.

The world has been... surprise... chaotic. The entire show that I had planned for tonight's live episode of The Weekly Pint has to be scrapped for a quick little episode instead. Not to be let down, though... I'll run through a couple of previews of some stuff coming down the road - because, well... why not?

Oktoberfest Is Winding Down, But That Doesn't Mean That We Don't Stop Drinking!!!!

We've got a few Cincinnati news stories to cover this week, but very quickly Oktoberfest dominates the conversation again. We're MAYBE a week away from this year's Oktoberfest Quest finals, which means I'm in crunch mode, both with drinking, and planning. We crack open way too many beers, and live in the chaos from the very minute I hit record. Just as expected, right?

The start of a new country song? No... Just sort of how my week has been going already. Nothing that a cold beer and a good conversation won't fix!

We've all been shouting from the rooftops for years - Ohio (and especially Cincinnati) is making some of the best beer in the country. This year's Great American Beer Festival is a great showcase of that!

Moeller Brew Barn announced today that they are closing their Monroe taproom - and the messages came flooding into my inbox all day, with folks telling me that they thought the location was "cursed". In this week's episode, I take a little dive in to explain to you why I think that the brewery closed its doors - and guess what? It's way simpler than a "curse".
