The Weekly List with Rich Larson and Daniel G. Moir

Every June, Danny has to sit in his chair while Rich goes on and on about how much he loves his birthday, and 2023 is no different. This year, however, Rich takes an idea that Danny inadvertently gave him, and expands on the list of music from the YEAR 1975 that he was ready to play a couple weeks ago.

This week, Rich and Danny – well okay, mostly Danny, detail their undying love for Robert Smith’s band, The Cure. Not that Rich doesn’t like The Cure, because he really does, but Danny gets to talk about how he’s seen them three times, and is going to see them again for the fourth time. Rich just thinks Close to Me is better with the horns.

After getting their signals crossed, Danny is forced to take the show over. The boys discuss Danny’s newest most favourite band of all time, even as Rich wonders why they aren’t playing Fleetwood Mac, Minnie Riperton and Olivia Newton-John.

On the eve of her 75th birthday, Rich and Danny take a long look at the career of Stevie Nicks. Is she the greatest female rock star of all time? Does every man who meets her fall in love with her? Is her solo career more reflective of her talent than her work in Fleetwood Mac? Is she a witch? They talk about all the things. Also, they both agree on the fact that she is a goddess.

Rich and Danny are joined by Jeff Johnson, the owner of KYMN radio, to discuss selections from Bob Dylan’s book The Philosophy of Modern Song. Three guys talking about music at a high level, but gosh they are entertaining.

Rich tried to do a Thanksgiving show two years ago with varying degrees of success, so this year they decided to avoid it altogether. Instead, as it is the week of the Feast of St. Andrew, the boys put their heritage on full display (well mostly Danny) to bring you some music by Scottish bands and musicians.
