Paul encourages the church at Philippi to stand firm in the Lord and remember their identity as citizens of heaven. We too are invited to live as citizens of heaven above all other allegiances.

Paul shares how Jesus shifted what really mattered for Paul, and reshaped his values completely. We're also invited to consider what really matters in our lives, and what it could look like to surrender our values and purpose to Jesus.

As Paul sends Timothy and Epaphroditus back to Philippi, he commends them for how they have worked alongside him in sharing the Gospel. How is God inviting us to work together in community for the kingdom in our time and place?

Paul urges the church at Philippi to live out their salvation together as a community. How is God inviting us to be Jesus-centered community today?

Paul urges Jesus followers to have the same mindset of Christ in all their relationships. How do we live out the humility and sacrificial love of Jesus today?

Paul challenges followers of Jesus to live a life worthy of the Gospel. We are invite to, called to, live a life informed by and aligned with the good news found in Jesus.

As we look at Paul’s perspective on suffering and rejoicing, we asked the question “How do we navigate suffering?” Today, we use words from Psalms to lament, question, recognize God’s character, surrender, and rejoice. As God has drawn near to us, we draw near to God.

In response to the pride and feelings of superiority of the Pharisees, Jesus told 3 parables. The lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son. In these he describes God as loving and merciful, seeking and welcoming the lost.

In Philippians 1 Paul describes his imprisonment as beneficial. It serves to further the gospel’s reach. Whether he’s released or looses his life, Jesus matters most.

As Paul begins his letter to the church at Philippi, he thanks them for their partnership and urges them to live out the way of Jesus in their time and place.

In the Great Commission, Jesus urges his disciples to make disciples. We too are invited to both be disciples and make disciples.

After his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples. He invites Thomas to lean in with all his questions and doubts, and he invites Peter to lean in with all his imperfections and failures. We too are invited to experience the Risen Savior.

Jesus meets two disciples on the road to Emmaus who are confused and processing Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. He explains from scripture God’s plan of redemption for humanity. We are invited into this resurrection life today.

Jesus' resurrection proved he is the Son of God and demonstrated his victory over death and evil. We are invited to resurrection life in here and now and for all eternity.

On Palm Sunday, we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem to a crowd cheering for the Son of David, the Messiah, the King who has arrived. Yet, days later a crowd will also chant, "Crucify him!" How do we receive Jesus?

As his ministry begins, Jesus’ identity as the Son of God is tested in the wilderness. Where humanity has failed to resist temptation, Jesus remains faithful. Like him, we are invited to depend on God and use Scripture to stand firm.

As God continues to lead the Israelites into the desert toward the Promised Land, they run out of food, and God miraculously provides manna for the people. Centuries later, Jesus comes as the Bread of Life offering abundant life to all who follow Him.

God rescues Israel out of slavery in Egypt and led them on a journey through the wilderness toward the Promised Land. How does God lead us today?

Moses lived in the wilderness for forty years among the Midianites. During this time, God transformed and prepared him for the task ahead - freeing his people from Egypt.

During this season of Lent, we'll explore 'The Wilderness.' Today we see Hagar in dire circumstances both seen and cared for by God. We witness the failure of humanity and the graciousness of God.

When asked, "Who is my neighbor?", Jesus told a Jewish audience a parable of a Samaritan hero caring for a wounded man. Jesus invites us to see, love, and care for the marginalized and oppressed.

As we conclude our series on Belong, Believe ,Become we turn our attention the transformational work God is doing in our lives. We look to the Spirit to produce in us love, joy, peace and patience that we might become more like Jesus.

Today we continue to explore our commitment to Belong, Believe, Become. We speak of Belief in a few ways. We discuss a turning point in life in which we come believe, when we place our faith in Jesus. Further we identify what we believe, orthodoxy. Finally, we consider what it looks to embrace belief as a journey as opposed to a destination.

Belong, Believe and Become (in that order) have been a guiding set of values at The Vine. As we look at the biblical narrative, we see how God invites and cultivates belonging with humanity.

Luke records describes two interactions with a common thread. While his disciples and bystanders rebuke and limit access to Jesus, he pauses to see children and a blind man. Further he engages them and offers blessings and healing.
