We've all spent time managing what others can see—or making honest attempts at a fresh start. But Jesus says our deepest problem isn't around us. It's within us. In an encounter with the Pharisees, he exposes the limits of religion and self-improvement, inviting us into the kind of transformation that begins with a new heart. From Mark 7:1–23.

Some tragedies are obvious. Others happen quietly in the human heart. Through the lives of Herod and John the Baptist, Mark 6 invites us to consider the difference between admiring Jesus and surrendering to him—and the difference between saving face and finding the kingdom.

When Jesus returns to Nazareth, He is met not with faith but with cynicism. The people most familiar with Him are unable to receive Him for who He truly is and miss what God wants to do among them. In the same way, unbelief can keep us from experiencing the fullness of God's work in our lives. From Mark 6:1–6.

What happens when we need God to act now, but He seems delayed? Through Jairus and the bleeding woman, Jesus shows that His timing is not a sign of indifference, but of love. He cares about every need we bring Him, but is most committed to addressing our deepest need. From Mark 5:21–43

Caught in a storm, the disciples question whether Jesus cares that they are perishing. But when He speaks and even the wind and sea obey Him, they begin asking the question at the center of Mark’s Gospel: “Who then is this?” From Mark 4:35-41.

What should we expect when we step into the way and mission of Jesus? Teaching from Matthew 28:18–20, Rich Dugan explores the Great Commission not as a distant command, but as an invitation into a life where Jesus is present, active, and still transforming people through ordinary faithfulness.

Jesus describes the kingdom of God as something both visible and mysterious - like light that cannot stay hidden or seeds slowly becoming something far greater than they first appeared. As we surrender ourselves to Him day by day, Jesus grows something in us that eventually grows beyond us. From Mark 4:21-34.

Jesus tells a story that reveals more than it explains—why the same message is heard by many but takes root in few. It’s not about striving, but becoming the kind of people who receive it deeply. What takes root in us shapes what grows out of us. From Mark 4:1–20.

Jesus sees a man everyone else avoids, sits with people no one trusts, and starts something in them that doesn’t fit into their old life. From Mark 2:13-22. 

In a surprising encounter, Jesus confronts the gap between what we most want and what we most need and how He alone has the authority to satisfy both. From Mark 2:1-12. 

Jesus steps onto the scene with an authority people can’t ignore, seen in how He teaches, acts, and lives. And while we tend to trust ourselves above all else, His call reaches into our future, what we believe is true, and the voices we listen to. From Mark 1:16-39

This Easter, we begin the Gospel of Mark at the very beginning. Jesus offers a new beginning—but not without a necessary ending, as He calls us to turn, trust, and follow Him. From Mark 1:1-15. 

Money isn’t just practical—it’s deeply spiritual. Paul speak to how the love of money can quietly shape our desires and distort our sense of security. But in Christ, we’re invited into a different way of life marked by contentment, trust, and generosity. From 1 Tim. 6:6-10, 17-19.

Paul writes to Timothy to show that healthy churches require qualified leadership—because leadership shapes our ability to know and enjoy God. What matters most is character, not competency: a life with nothing to hide, formed by Jesus. And ultimately, our hope is in Jesus, the true Shepherd who never fails. From 1 Tim. 3:1-13

The gospel saves us into a new family called the church, where we learn how to intentionally relate to one another and wisely care for one another, in order to strengthen the church and advance the gospel. From 1 Tim. 5:1-16. 

The church isn’t just a gathering - it’s the household of the living God, called to hold up the truth of the gospel. Paul invites the church to reject false teaching, train for godliness, and live with a public mission. Rooted in the finished work of Jesus, we pursue lives shaped by truth, disciplined devotion, and love for the world. From 1 Tim. 3:14–4:16

Paul offers a vision of how men and women are meant to flourish together in the family of God. In a complex and often controversial passage, we’re invited not to pick sides, but to pursue unity, humility, and obedience to Jesus above all else. From 1 Tim. 2:8-15.

What if prayer isn’t passive, but our greatest weapon? Paul calls us to wage the good warfare, resist drifting toward shipwreck, and pray for all people—even those we’re tempted to criticize. We do so anchored in the good news that Jesus is our mediator and ransom. From 1 Timothy 2:1–7.

The mercy of Jesus doesn’t just forgive our past. In Paul we see it overflows with grace, faith, and love—turning even the worst of who we were into a living testimony of God’s patience and power. From 1 Timothy 1:12-20. 

Paul urges Timothy to guard the gospel—not out of fear or control, but out of love. In a culture drawn to speculation and secondary issues, Paul clarifies that sound doctrine exists to form a people shaped by grace, truth, and a love committed to others’ highest good over the long haul. From 1 Timothy 1:3-11. 

Paul anchors the life of the church in one unshakable reality: Christ Jesus, our hope. From Him flow grace, mercy, and peace as we learn to live together as God’s family. From 1 Timothy 1:1-2. 

As we close our study of Proverbs, we turn to the posture that makes wisdom possible: being teachable. Scripture shows us that wisdom is formed through openness, correction, and earnest application—long before the outcomes are visible.
