The largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament is right in our backyard. The Spokane Hoopfest has been a PNW staple for over three decades and gives back to the basketball community in many ways. The H1 Unlimited Circuit is about to kick off later this month. H1 hydroplane testing took place in the Tri-Cities at the end of May, causing excitement in Tri-Town for the Columbia Cup and Water Follies later in the summer. Jamie Council catches up with Aaron Stephens and Strong Racing.

Eastern Washington has produced a lot of baseball talent over the years. In 2024, the Tri-Cities held their weight on a state-wide level with Richland (4A) and Tri-Cities Prep (2B) hoisting state championship trophies while River View (2B) finished runner up. Jamie Council also covers an event that's designed to celebrate the best senior talent in the area.

Columbia Basin Youth Football is Washington's largest youth football league. The non-profit organization is working to eliminate the cost barrier for youth in the community to participate. It might be March Madness, but high school spring seasons are underway. Jamie Council catches up with the defending 2B baseball state champions, Tri-Cities Prep head coach Jason Jarrett about the upcoming high school season, his baseball podcast, and an upcoming summer baseball league in the area.

The Columbia Basin College women are ranked first in the Eastern Conference of the Northwest Athletic Conference. The Hawks start their quest for an NWAC championship on Saturday at the NWAC tournament held in Pasco. Jamie Council catches us with head coach Amy Sokaitis.

The Richland boys basketball team have been the conference champions for the past three years. This season, they went 16-0 in MCC play. Starting district play tonight, the Bombers are looking for their first district title since 2016 and want to return to the dome.

Joddie Gleason was named to the watchlist to the Mid-Major Coach of the Year. The Eastern Women's Head Coach has helped her team to a 5-0 start in Big Sky play and a record-setting 9 game win streak.

The Wenatchee Bighorns are entering their second season in the TBL. With professional basketball back in Eastern Washington, the Bighorns are looking to recruit local talent including East Valley's Brandon Porter as well as Gavin Long from SPU as well as top talent around the country. Last week we heard from Mike Neidhold as he made the decision to step down as head football coach and about what being a bomber means to him... Today is part two of the Sports Council interview with Mike Neidhold.

Mike Neidhold Retires (PART 1) -- Mike Neidhold has been the Richland football coach for 16 seasons, including leading the Bombers to a state championship in 2017. Upon announcing his retirement at the conclusion of the 2023 season, Jamie Council reminisces on his storied time at the helm of the football program.
