In Psalm 5, David walks through a prayer of lament, teaching us how to pray when our hearts are broken. In this 5 part formula for prayer, we will learn how to lament well and how to rest in the finished work of Christ as well. Join us as we consider Psalm 5 and grow in our discipline of prayer.

The New Testament goes to great lengths to reveal the sinful heart of the Pharisees and also to expose the idolatry that was latent in their movement. In today's sermon, we examine 18 characteristics of the Pharisaic religion, how this same grouping of sins pop up in modern evangelicalism, and how as Christians we must repent and turn to Christ! 

When we pray, we must lean into who God is. We do not simply ask Him for our needs, we joyfully declare, praise, and worship Him for who He is, which not only changes our demeanor in a situation, but also changes our praying. We see David moving from coward to courage in this Psalm because His prayers are centered on God. The same is true for us when we learn to pray like that! 

In today's passage, Jesus teaches His people that He is the one who enters through the door and brings salvation to His people. He is also the one who stands in the door and keeps His people safe in their salvation. Join us today as we examine how Christ is the door, and also the key to our salvation!

Jochebed longed for deliverance and got to see God bring a mighty deliverer through her faithfulness.
