This short series of podcasts gives listeners the opportunity to find out more about the forgotten history of the last armed rebellion in England. It was easily quashed by a repressive government still fearful of the French Revolution of 1789. They used ‘Oliver the Spy’ to infiltrate the rebels which led to the execution of the three leaders; Jeremiah Brandreth, William Turner and Isaac Ludlam and the transportation of 14 others to Australia following a rigged trial.
