The Old Nerd and the Genius

Neither of us had ever seen Citizen Kane (1941) despite its reputation as the greatest movie ever made. Eighty-five years later, it most definitely holds up.

Happy 4th of July and 250th anniversary! Young Washington (2026) is an excellent movie. No naps or cell phones were involved!

Frank's life mission was to be kind to Supergirl. Spoiler alert: He failed! And we didn't even talk about all the swag I picked up at the movie!!

Also known as The Death of Two Hours of Your Life, we just endured (napped through) The Death of Robin Hood. Don't waste your time with this one, so listening to our spoiler full episode will be fine.

Frank is outnumbered. Sean and Jesse side with me and give Disclosure Day (2026) a thumbs-up. In response, Frank rear ends us with his SUV!

Albert: "Oh God, I pierced the toast!" Armand: "So what? The important thing to remember is not to go to pieces when that happens. You have to react like a man, calmly. You have to say to yourself, 'Albert, you pierced the toast, so what? It's not the end of your life.'"

We cannot tell a lie nor hide our disappointment! The Breadwinner (2026) with Nate Bargatze comes up way short. If it were a cherry tree we would chop it down without hesitation. Love the comic but the movie stinks.

"Hang on, it's about to get weird." One of us goes in a He-Man virgin and comes out fisted! Our take on Masters of the Universe (2026).

We're torn between Nicolas Cage's sandwich eating and mid-atlantic accent in Spider-Noir (2026).

It wasn't the worst Star Wars live action production regardless of the Aliens franchise crossover. Not to mention the OG Ghostbusters.

We like air conditioning, and beer, and bottomless bread sticks and tan lines, one-night stands, and threesomes, and foursomes, Jack and Coke. Just Jack. Just coke. - Also, Mortal Kombat II (2026)

And we still don't know why the chicken crossed the road! Frank's most anticipated movie may have redeemed him. It's a good time. We both highly recommend.

So Maryna and I go see Obsession (2025) and I make a wish! How bad could it be? We both think it's great - not that she has a choice in the matter at this point.

Busboys was far worse than the root canal earlier in the day! Not that we're keeping score but in the success at picking a good movie metric, Frank is 0 out of 2 and Linder is 1 out of 1. In a related note, when Frank falls asleep in a movie it is a 10. When Linder falls asleep it is a 0. There seems to be a pattern.

More evil midget! We watch Lone Wolf McQuade (1983) with friends and have a post watch discussion. It was a good time!

We debate on seeing Amazon's The Boys all the way through series completion. Ultimately, we give in to the sunk cost fallacy and will be back for a Part 2 series wrap-up.

We don't agree on The Mummy Returns (2001) but we do agree the two best reasons to watch it are depicted in our episode image. By the way, The Mummy (1999), we agree is a must watch.

I can't believe we forgot to mention the magic flaming fireman ax! 🤦‍♂️ We just saw They Will Kill You. If this podcast kills you, we become immortal!

Intended to do a quick take on the new Supergirl (2026) trailer and went off on Superman (2025) then back to the trailer. Turns out Frank doesn't care about Truth, Justice, and the American Way!
