An Ansted man has been arrested on a felony drug charge in Fayette County. Jonathon M. Williams, 27, is facing felony charges after a midday incident on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. 

One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle at a Par-Mar convenience store. According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on July 9, 2024, at approximately 1:52 AM, emergency services responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the Huttonsville Par-Mar. 

A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced in Fayette County for bringing a controlled substance into West Virginia. According to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Celester Vaughn, II, 62, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to one to ten years in prison for transporting a controlled substance into the state.

An investigation is underway after a man was shot multiple times at a West Virginia bar. According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 2:33 AM, deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at the Green Frog Bar, located on Shepherdstown Road in Martinsburg.

A Bluefield man has been sentenced in Fayette County to 10 years for a felony drug conspiracy crime. According to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Cory L. Callen, 34, of Bluefield, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to possess and distribute fentanyl, oxymorphone, cocaine, and tramadol.

Authorities have confirmed a shooting which took place in the Beckley area on the Fourth of July.

One man has been sentenced in Fayette County for stabbing and killing a fellow inmate at the Mount Olive Correctional Center. Charles Redman, 55, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, as announced by Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti. The sentencing was handed down by Circuit Judge Thomas H. Ewing on July 8, 2024.
