Episode 7 - The Housemaid 19.01.2024 25:57

Happy New Year everyone! I mentioned during my 2023 Reading Rewind show that I wanted to talk more about books that I rated less than 5 stars and that I didn’t really like, so we’re starting 2024 off strong with just that. The Housemaid is a thriller about a young woman named Millie who gets hired to work as a housemaid for a wealthy family. Unfortunately, the woman of the house, Nina, seems set i...

Episode 4 - The Three Rivers Controversy 24.11.2023 24:45

Something a little bit different this week. Instead of doing a book review, I wanted to discuss a book-related controversy that happened earlier this year. At the centre of it all is former child actor/author Sarah Stusek, and her semi-autobiographical novel Three Rivers. The book is currently standing at a resounding 1.3 stars on GoodReads, and not just because it's a bad book. Tune in to hear al...

Episode 3 - The Woman in Me 24.11.2023 27:43

This week's featured book is The Woman in Me, by Britney Spears. This book truly needs no introduction. If you know anything about Britney Spears and all she's gone through, then you know even just a little bit about what's going to be in this book. A gut-wrenchingly beautiful story about a woman just trying to do what she loves - create art and raise her sons. Genre: non-fiction, memoir Trigger W...

Episode 2 - A Good Girl's Guide to Murder 24.11.2023 26:37

This week's episode features our review of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, by Holly Jackson. This young adult mystery novel, released in 2019, is the first book in a trilogy and is easily one of (if not THE) best books I have read in 2023. Full of twists and turns, this is not a book you can predict the ending of! Tune in for more! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
