The Last of the Muskegons: A Story Time Podcast

Every fisherman heads to the water with a pole and a wish. A wish for good weather, safe travels on the water, or that maybe today will be the day they will reel in the King of the Crappies. Which wish will come true for our friend, Ken? Maybe all of them, maybe none, but you're going to want to listen to find out. This is Wishing and Fishing.

They say things happen for a reason. You are set on a path without your knowledge and the twists and turns of life put you exactly where you need to be, when you need to be there. Some call it destiny, fate or luck. Others might say it is divine intervention. Ken says it’s being in the right place at the right time. All we know is that it makes for a great story.

Our hitchhikers have finally made it to Florida and it’s time to relax…except they don’t have a place to stay. Did we mention this trip was not planned well? Thankfully, their unbelievable good luck continues as they stumble upon a group of surf bums who love a good arm wrestling match. They spend the remainder of their spring break cheating death, hiding from cops, and saving damsels in distress....

Spring Break. Those two words conjure up visions of parent-free weeks filled with white sand beaches and parties with friends. They very rarely include hitchhiking across the country, catching rides with random tycoons, and sleeping in rattlesnake dens. But, this is a Ken story, so anything can and will happen.

What do croquet mallets, a herd of wild horses, and a burn barrel bazooka have in common? You’re going to have to listen to find out. Sit down, buckle up and hold on tight for the story of a neighborhood turf war that rivals the Hatfield and the McCoys. This is The Bills’ Gang.

When you’re a teen, you feel invincible, like you can take on the world. Or if you’re Ken and his friends, you feel like you can take on the entire U.S. Military. Hold on to your hats and watch the fireworks. This is The Attack on The National Guard.

When you’re a kid, your body is essentially made of rubber. Your knees don’t crack when you go from standing to sitting, getting out of a low chair doesn’t require help, and there’s no fear that an errant sneeze is going to cause your back to go out for the next week. You start to believe you’re invincible. That belief can lead to a lot of boneheaded, unbelievable, and honestly insane ideas. That’...

When you think about it, life is like a swing. The incredible heights that take your breath away and the lows that feel like you will never come back up from. You slow down whether you want to or not, and in the end, you have to let go.  This is The Three Swings.

Another night out ends in a terrifying encounter. What is happening in Muskegon? Is it a mecca for the mysterious or is there a roving band of teens pulling elaborate hoaxes? You be the judge. This is The Space Creature.
