The Lanthorn Loop

On August 24th the Biden-Harris Administration announced the Student Debt Relief Plan to help ease student debt issues in America. This plan will greatly affect many Grand Valley State University students. 

The Grand Valley Lanthorn is back with the 2022 Summer Edition. This episode of the Lanthorn Loop discusses what to expect in the Summer Edition alongside an introduction to our staff editors. 

Grand Valley State University held its first-ever Sex Ed Week. The week consisted of 13 lighthearted and serious events so students had the opportunity to learn more about sexual education while having fun. 

Local MMA fighter Brett Martin has been working towards his goal of making it to the UFC since 2015. Throughout his journey, he has learned how to balance his passion, his family, and his work.

Aramark, a food service provider from Philadelphia and has been linked to many unethical issues. Grand Valley students and groups on campus are questioning if this contract is what's best for the University and are exploring other possible options.

Students packed Lubbers Stadium on Sept. 11, for the first in-person football game in over a year. What was supposed to be a joyous reunion resulted in many grievances after the attendees faced issues with security and overcrowding. 

Skelletones provides a places for people of all-ages to connect with like-minded communities and provides them with a safe place to go and listen to music. They are open Friday & Saturday from 7 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Its been over a year since we've seen Grand Valley State University's football team take the field. September 2nd, 2021, will be their first game right here at Lubbers Stadium. The team and fans are excited to get back to in-person games to celebrate the 50th season of GV football! 

After a year of halting indoor productions due to COIVD-19, Circle Theatre is back. Grand Rapids fans are eager to see the Circle Theaters artists take the stage again as they open with their outdoor production of "Always Patsy Cline".
