Toby looks at Acts 8:14-25, completing the account of Simon the Sorcerer.  He gives a 'Toby' perspective on Peter and John's trip from Jerusalem and considers what our heart attitude towards God might be.  A lively discussion follows.

The Gospel in Samaria. Acts 8:1-13. Hilary looks at Saul, Philip and Simon the Sorcerer in this clear and inspiring reminder of how effective God's people can be when following the Holy Spirit. Some discussion included.

Sylvia Boys delivers a talk on They Had Great Potential starting in 1 Corinthians 6 v 19-20. (We are aware that there is a quality issue with the recording for the first 11 minutes)

(08.06.26) John Frances bring a talk titled 'Armchairs and Other Dangerous Things' and the danger of ease. We start in Matthew 11 v 29-30.

Rev Ben Leney talks from Acts 7 v 44-60. We reach the climax (peroratio!) of Stephen's speech, his vision of Jesus, and his death.  His speech focuses on the Temple and God's glory. His life is an exemplary witness to the Jewish leaders but they respond with rage. Some discussion included!

Rev Ben Leney continues his talks on healing with the next installment Releasing Healing, Barriers and Principals starting in Isaiah 53 v 5. 

Rev Jon Adair talks on Pentecost Sunday from Acts 2 v1-12 and his talk is call Tongues of Fire, Power & Presence. 

Gilbert takes us through Acts 7:30-43, although he starts a little earlier, and helps us to see Moses broadly and also as Stephen is weaving him into his speech to the Sanhedrin, including comments and questions.  Last talk on Stephen's speech including his martyrdom coming soon! 

John France leads the church in an open ministry time.

This is a talk by Rev. Ben Leney on healing starting in Isaiah 53 v 4 -Surely He has borne our grief and carried our sorrows.

Gideon gives Acts 7:17-29 the 'Smit' treatment: he reminds us of what has gone before, looks to what is ahead, and brings his own take on Moses' experience of being neither Egyptian nor Hebrew.  Stephen's speech is key in the growth of the early Church - this is part 2 and part 3 is due after the 18th May.

Martin French starts on Psalm 118 v 24, 'This is the day the Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it', adding Because to the ending of this verse and talks about what we can rejoice in!  An uplifting message.  

Unusually, this is three for the price of one.  James, Martin and Ben tackle Acts 6:15-7:16, starting the 'assault' on the longest speech in the entire book, as Stephen addresses the Sanhedrin before his martyrdom which creates a growth explosion in the early church.
