Immanuel - which means 'God With Us'. If you could condense all the truths of Christmas into just three words, these would be ‘God With Us’. Jim speaks about the power of these few words.

John wants us to walk in truth and love. Not always easy to do both at the same time. Sometimes love means we are not discerning about truth and sometimes we love truth at the expense of being loving. How do we do both well?

Continuing through the first letter of John, we come to the point where we learn of the three converging testimonies to Christ: his baptism, crucifixion and the Holy Spirit working with us. We learn from this testimony Christians receive eternal life through Christ and we look at the martyrdom of Steven and his glimpse of heaven.

Who is Jesus? It’s such an important question. Some people were teaching some mis-truths about Jesus and John addresses this in his first letter, encouraging these young Christians to remain in Christ. It’s so important we keep knowing Jesus!
