The Kibbe and Friends Show

Welcome back to Hazzard County—and happy 66th birthday to Producer Bernie McPartland! It’s the perfect automotive birthday for a guy whose favorite Chevelle is a ’66. We celebrate with repurposed birthday decorations, questionable snack cakes, embarrassing pictures, and birthday messages from friends including Clay Millican and Mike Finnegan. Bernie even gets a trivia game built around himself. Su...

Welcome back to Hazzard County! This week we’re reviewing The Dukes of Hazzard Season 2, Episode 8, “Hazzard Connection,” and this one is exactly why I love Season 2. Real driving, hard hits, wonderfully sloppy production details, and a plot where stolen racing engines are apparently the criminal currency of choice. What more could you want? Bo and Luke need to make some money, so they take jobs h...

Welcome back to Hazzard County! This week, we start with Cale Yarborough’s famous fight after the 1979 Daytona 500 and a more recent NASCAR confrontation. That leads us into a conversation about racing, the headlines it makes, and how a new generation of drivers builds an audience through video. Bernie takes us to Pennsylvania for the story of an early automotive tire and inner tube patent. Then R...

Mike Finnegan sent us something that none of us had ever seen—or even heard of—before: a forgotten 1983 television adaptation of Six Pack. Intended as a pilot for a weekly series based on the Kenny Rogers movie, it starred a pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson as race car driver Brewster Baker. Markie Post, Jennifer Runyon, Billy Warlock, and a very young Joaquin Phoenix rounded out a surprisingly recogniz...

Welcome back to Hazzard County! This week, we confirm that Days of Thunder 2 is officially moving forward and discuss whether Tom Cruise can convincingly put Cole Trickle back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Cup car. We also share an update on our uncertain Moparty plans, the people representing K&F at the event, and why my General Lee will probably remain safely at home. Bernie brings us the la...

This week on the Kibbe and Friends Show, we remember two enormous pop-culture icons, Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. Dolly’s passing leads to stories about her music, movies, generosity, faith, and universal appeal—followed by an AI-generated Dolly Parton quiz that somehow results in a perfect score. We also look back at Tim Curry’s unforgettable career, from The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Clue to...

This week on the Kibbe and Friends Show, I have a new mission: save The Dukes of Hazzard! With Coyote vs. Acme finding new life after sitting on a shelf, could somebody do the same thing with the Dukes while John Schneider and Tom Wopat can still climb through the windows of a Charger? Bernie and Corndog naturally help turn my perfectly reasonable idea into something completely ridiculous. We also...

This week we lost a true member of the Dukes of Hazzard family. Ben Jones, forever known to millions of fans as Cooter Davenport, has passed away. In his memory, we're stepping away from our regular format to revisit something we're incredibly grateful to have in the Kibbe & Friends archives: our full 2019 conversation with Ben himself. We originally spoke with Ben ahead of the 40th anniversa...

This week’s Kibbe & Friends Show is dedicated to the memory of Ben Jones, the man who brought Cooter Davenport to life on The Dukes of Hazzard and spent decades helping keep the show and its fan community alive. Rob, Corndog, and Bernie look back at Ben’s life, his career before and after the Dukes, his time in Congress, the creation of Cooter’s Place, and the lasting impact he had on generat...

Every once in a while we take a break from Hazzard County and revisit another piece of automotive pop culture, and this week we're looking back at one of the most quotable comedy films ever made—Wayne's World. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey turned a popular Saturday Night Live sketch into a movie that defined the early '90s while giving us unforgettable characters, classic rock, and one of the most re...

Season 2 continues with "The Rustlers," as the Duke Boys team up with country music legend Mel Tillis to protect his prized racehorse from Boss Hogg, horse rustlers, and one crooked horse dealer. While the General Lee doesn't get as much screen time as usual, this episode delivers plenty of memorable moments—including a race between the General Lee and a thoroughbred, Uncle Jesse's now-famous clim...

This week on The Kibbe & Friends Show, the guys kick things off by discussing the growing rumors that Dodge could return to NASCAR competition in 2027. With new reports suggesting progress on both the race car and engine program, Rob, Corndog, and Bernie debate what Dodge's return could look like, how manufacturer-supported engines compare to the competition, and whether NASCAR has become too...

Season 2 of The Dukes of Hazzard gets underway with "Days of Shine and Roses," an episode that takes fans back to the moonshine-running days of Uncle Jesse and Boss Hogg. What starts with a collection of old "home movies" quickly turns into one last Ridge Runner race as two longtime rivals settle an old score the only way they know how—with fast cars, back roads, and plenty of Hazzard County chaos...

Disney's The Love Bug wasn't just a hit movie—it created one of the most recognizable automotive stars in entertainment history. Long before KITT, the General Lee, or Lightning McQueen, a little Volkswagen Beetle named Herbie captured audiences with personality, charm, and a racing spirit that made generations of car enthusiasts believe their own vehicles might have a soul. In this episode, Rob, C...

The Season 1 finale of The Dukes of Hazzard may be one of the most important episodes in the entire series. "Double Sting" takes everything that made those first 12 episodes special and blends it into the formula that would define the show for years to come. You’ve got out-of-town crooks, a clever scheme, Rosco and Boss caught in the middle of the chaos, Daisy stepping up to save the day, and of c...

In this episode of The Dukes of Hazzard, Boss Hogg cooks up one of his most ambitious scams yet when he's tasked with turning over a million dollars in worn-out currency to be destroyed and replaced with fresh cash. Rather than follow the rules, Boss devises a plan to keep the money, collect the replacement funds, and cash in on an insurance claim at the same time. To pull it off, he recruits his...

The Kibbe and Friends crew is back with another automotive movie deep dive, this time connecting the dots between American Graffiti, Dazed and Confused, and the entire cruising culture that shaped generations of car people. Rob, Corndog, and Bernie dig into why American Graffiti still works over 50 years later, from the unforgettable cars and soundtrack to the feeling of freedom and youth that Geo...

Kibbe & Friends Show #366 revisits a classic Dukes of Hazzard episode the gang originally reviewed nearly 10 years ago — Season 1 Episode 10, “Deputy Dukes!” Before heading back to Hazzard County, the crew catches up on Corndog’s daughter graduating high school, Rob’s busy summer racing schedule with Dallas Kibbe Racing, and a surprising firsthand look at the new electric Dodge Charger Dayton...

In this episode, we review The Dukes of Hazzard Season 1, Episode 9 — “Limo One is Missing.” It’s one of those early-season episodes that perfectly captures what made the show work before anything got overly polished. The setup is classic Hazzard County: the President’s limousine rolls into town, Cooter lays eyes on it… and steals it. Not out of greed, not for profit—just because he loves it. That...

In this Special Edition episode, we shift gears from Hazzard County to a true cult classic—Dazed and Confused (1993). Set on the last day of school in May of 1976, this isn’t your typical movie breakdown. Instead of one central storyline, the film drops you into a full-on snapshot of teenage life—cruising backroads, chasing parties, navigating friendships, and figuring out what comes next when eve...

In Part 2 of our conversation with Corey M. Eubanks, we pick up right where things left off—and it doesn’t take long before things go completely sideways. Corey walks us through one of the most intense moments of his career during his time on The Dukes of Hazzard—a General Lee scene that was supposed to be controlled but turned into a full-speed collision that sent multiple stuntmen to the hospita...

Corey M. Eubanks has spent over four decades doing what most people only dream about—and surviving it. In this episode of Kibbe & Friends, we sit down with the legendary stunt driver whose career spans everything from The Dukes of Hazzard to major Hollywood productions, where precision driving, split-second decisions, and a little bit of controlled chaos are all part of the job. Corey takes u...

In this Easter-themed episode of the Kibbe & Friends Show, we kick off spring the right way—with cars, stories, and a return to what makes this hobby so much fun. The guys cover everything from Easter traditions and food debates to behind-the-scenes stories in automotive media, including how content creation has evolved from rough early YouTube days to today’s polished productions. There’s ev...

This week on the Kibbe & Friends Show, Rob Kibbe, Justin “CornDog” Cornette, and Bernie “Broke Wing” McPartland revisit one of their favorite comedy movie reviews — The Other Guys starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Originally featured back in Episode 290, the film remains a perfect blend of absurd comedy and automotive moments, highlighted by the unforgettable red Prius police car and t...

In Episode 359 of The Kibbe & Friends Show, the guys head back to The Dukes of Hazzard Season 1 with a review of Episode 7, “Luke’s Love Story.” The story centers around the annual Hazard County Obstacle Derby, where Luke enters the General Lee against a new challenger — Amy Creevy and her black Mustang, “Lucifer.” The episode blends racing, romance, and sabotage as Amy’s jealous ex-boyfriend...
