The Jack & Zac Talk Cats Show

Recorded on Monday, April 15…the guys have the quickest 3 episode run in the podcast’s history. Still some reflection on Calipari’s time at Kentucky here but this one is really for the new Kentucky men’s basketball coach, Mark Pope! The fellas give their initial reactions but then express how they are now all in. Looking forward to the next chapter. Go Cats.

While it may be odd to get two episodes in less than a week, with things made official, this one felt needed. The first Cat of the Day in a long time goes to John Calipari. We thank him for his time in this episode and look back on some of our favorite memories. We wish him well on his next journey, except when he’s going against Kentucky. Go Cats.

Another random night podcast is in the books and this one comes with a lot of mixed feelings. It also comes with a couple returning guests and Wildcats fans, TWalk and Big Tuna. 12 days after it’s announced that Kentucky basketball head coach will return, he flips the script and agrees to a five year deal with Arkansas. Some us were ready for this change. Some of us didn’t want it to end this way....

The fellas have randomly come together for a new episode of the Jack and Zac Talk Cats Show. What a roller coaster of emotions they missed discussing since the last episode (Jan. 20 😳). Be patient with this one, randomly also means neither was prepared…but the guys have high hopes for the team at its current state heading into the tournaments. Go Cats!

Jack and Zac have tried to come together multiple times since the Dec. 13’s episode, but things kept interfering. Have no fear, the boys are back to discuss the kentucky basketball team and Liam Coen in this episode. Also, lost Cats that make a comeback years later…is that the case with post-season success for this year’s basketball team? 🤞

The guys discuss the transfer portal, more so the questionable departures from UK and some of those getting upset about playing time. They also look ahead to a fun bowl game matchup vs last year’s not so fun one (yes, Zac tackles that take again). As far as basketball goes, this episode comes a week or so after the UNCW loss. Despite that loss, the guys still fill good about this team.

The guys are glad to have a new outlook on the football season now. Took care of business against the Cards. Zac struggled to say annihilates but the men’s basketball team did not struggle to do that to #8 Miami. This episode may have cutoff too early…until next time, GO CATS!

The guys discuss the disappointing football season with hopes for it to end on a higher note against Louisville. Odd episode but the guys reflect a bit on the Vandy win and look ahead to the Florida game that they’ve placed their first bets in Kentucky on! They were also victims to click bait with someone disrespecting Kentucky basketball. Jack reflects on his latest trip to Kroger Field and gives his top moment at the stadium since it recently had its 50th birthday. Is it finally being able to buy a beer there? The guys also talk more about stadium and arena updates. Then the guys discuss recruits out of Kenrucky, including a top QB. Both guys were glued to Colorado game at 1:30 a.m. On to basketball: Rupp arena 3rd best SEC arena....

The guys discuss all the positives after the Cats covered against Ball State. The o-line is fixed? The special teams for sure seems to be! Another solid RB dawg for the Cats with Ray Davis. Speaking of dawgs, we also discuss Coach Prime and Colorado’s big first week win. Cat of the Day is back with a recent champion.

Yep, this is still a thing. After the longest hiatus in podcast history, Jack and Zac have reunited to talk cats. A lot of time has passed since the last recording…might as well call it a new season. The guys skip the usual first of the season preparation episodes and dive right into making win/loss picks. Just like old times, the Cat of the Day was forgotten. Back at it. Go Cats!

This year’s bracketology show from the Jack & Zac Talk Cats Show isn’t quite the same as the last two. The guys haven’t even got into their bracket much at the point of recording. The guys also discuss a recent recruiting loss for basketball and the Mitch/Calipari situation that may not be as big as a situation as some make it to be. Go Cats!

Zac is sicker than a dog, you’ll hear it in his voice but the show goes on. The guys are speechless to an extent. End 2022 with an ugly bowl game…start 2023 with an ugly game vs Bama in basketball. Barf. The guys discuss a little bit of the Calipari to Texas debacle. This episode was recorded on Sunday evening, January 8.

Recorded December 21st. 2 sets of headlines because the guys first tried recording Dec 19. Talks of Liam Coen and a roster for the UK football team that’s become a lot more appealing than expected.
