The Home Video Hustle

It's a big one this week! Everone wanted us to do it and PJ finally picked it, the John Carpenter classic "Big Trouble in Little China." There may or may not be a bit of controversy with this one, I wont say why though...Also in this episode we talk about the Starbucks incidents, Culture Vulture fights, we play a game of Vers: The Rap Card Game, Taylor Swifts terrible remake of "September" by Eart...

We talked all about the upcoming remake last episode and ya'll heard how we felt about that, so this week we had to show the proper love to the original classic from 1972! You'll also get some relationship tips, hear about the two Superfly sequels, hear stories from Brent's youth, listen to PJs shock as Brent tells him about weak minded people getting broke down and you get a third review from a g...

Listener Appreciation Month is over and the bag is back and it brought us some garbage! This weeks movie is the 2007 box office bomb, I Know Who Killed Me starring Lindsay Lohan. Is it as bad as it's made out to be or will it be good trash for us to enjoy? This is a longer episode and it's packed with our thoughts on the new Superfly remake trailer, questions are answered, random news articles are...

Listener Appreciation Month has come to an end and for this final episode, Cliff from @WNAPodcast gave us two choices, Scanners and Above The Rim. We left the choice up to our Twitter followers and Scanners won with 71% of the vote! PJ has never seen this one before but this is one of Brent's favorites, so you can guess how this is gonna go. We had to record this one late so there are kids in the...

Listener Appreciation Month is about over but we had to get a comic book movie in eventually right? This time it's Ghost Rider 2 and it was given to us by Steve and Izzy from the "Everything I Learned from Movies" Podcast. (@eilfmovies) PJ has seen it but Brent hasn't, this may turn out differently than you'd think... In this episode you also get to hear all about rappers telling people to marry s...

Listener Appreciation Month finally got Brent, did 'em dirty...Gave him a damn Disney movie...His own fam got 'em...It's okay though because this was bound to happen eventually. The Incredibles is up this week, will your favorite hustlers love this movie or is it more Disney garbage? One host most likely will... It's week 2 of Listener Appreciaton Month and this week PJ pulled Mortal Kombat out of the hat and we will say Thank You to Jeof from the Kung Fu Drive In Podcast (@KungFuDriveIn) for submitting it! This is yet another movie that PJ has never seen before and something weird happens this episode, inceptions may be happening this week on HVH.... Listener Appreciation Month is here! Brent won first pick after several games of Rock, Paper, Scissors (Catch The YouTube Video) and the first movie to come out of the hat was the 2016 Stephen Chow hit, The Mermaid. This pick comes from Kira, the host of the Fun Dip and Cherry Coke podcast (@fundippod) and it's definitely not the usual HVH flick. Will it get love on the podcast or run Brent and PJ...

Black History Month is coming to a close but before we go, its time we got to the movie that was the genesis for this whole podcast. Bloodz vs Wolvez is a straight to DVD, super low budget movie about vampires and werewolves beefing with each other over territory and all the dumb stuff that comes with it. Now we have a soft spot for trash here on HVH but will this be too much for even us?... Also,...

Black History Month continues with a flick that not many people have heard of unfortunately but we are here to fix that! This is basically an Urban Film Noir from the late 90s and I wont spoil it by saying more than that, As usual, the film gets discussed but this week Brent goes on a rant about stupid people and the stupid things they do as well. Fun is had. Also listen for shoutouts to Decomposi...

Black History Month is still here so we got more Black movies for ya and this week PJ picked "Dolemite" out of the bag! We also have a guest this week that was trying not to talk but as you'll hear, Brent's poke skills are immaculate! Questions are answered, PJ and our guest get into a long discussion about gender roles and kids and of course we have some Trade Voorhees music for you at the end an...

Well, this week is a first, neither host has seen this flick. Now this is considered by many to be a classic and actually scary. Will Brent and PJ think so or will this be another Star Wars situation? Come check out the show and find out! ALSO, this movie may have one of the best PJ quotes in the show's history... We finally got to it...PJ finally finished the original trilogy. He didn't like the first movie, thought Empire was okay, now you get to hear if he likes this one. Most Star Wars fans don't care for this one as much as the other two so what do you think PJ's going to say? HVH IS BACK!!! We took a break last week, but we are back and this week we are bringing you Street Fighter! Based off the video game series that we are kind of fans of but as you'll hear, we are definitely bigger Mortal Kombat fans. There may also be a bit of controversy with the scores given to this flick at the end.  Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Intro Music - Doc Giggz O...

The Christmas Hustle is at its end but finally Brent has gotten his wish! They finally get to talk about the best Christmas movie, Die Hard. As you'd expect it got kind of hype, there's lots of tangents and Shayla joins in at the end to rant about the Kardashians with PJ. Oh, and stick around until the end to hear PJ's new song, "Moon Beams." Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube I...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! HAPPY WHAT THE F--K EVER YOU CELEBRATE! The Christmas Hustle is near its end but before it's over it hit us with a new milestone! This is the first episode of the show that is a "Brent's Never Seen!" This week PJ picked out from under the tree, the 1946 "Christmas Classic" It's A Wonderful Life. Will it be a wonderful life for Brent after having to sit through yet...

We got another Side Hustle for you and this time, Jaslyn from High Expectations is chillin' with Brent and talking about a bunch of different stuff. Jas and Brent even break out the poetry at one point and he tries his best to keep her on the mic as long as possible. If you want to hear all about the "asker of fuc--d up questions" this is the episode to check out. Follow High Expectations on Twitt...

The Christmas Hustle is still moving along and maybe it's because of all the holly jolly-ness that Brent is losing his mind, but the hype is real this episode. Sure, the title says Jingle All the Way but fair warning, there is talk about hip-hop, wrestling, other movies, stories and basically everything other than this week's movie. There's a reason why this episode is the longest yet at 2 hours!...

After narrowly escaping death last week, your favorite hustlers are back to continue with The Christmas Hustle. This week's movie is a Christmas classic filled with laughs, family fun and violence...Lots of violence. That makes someone happy this week, you can take a wild guess at who I mean... The Christmas Hustle begins and almost ends Brent. PJ picked the 1998 "family" movie, Jack Frost. This is the true test of podcasting, what do you do when the movie you have to talk about has no real plot, annoying kids and a freaky looking snowman? I guess you give it to Brent & PJ and make them suffer, which is just what happened today.  Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & YouTube Promos...

We found out about a new app that can record multiple people at once over the phone so me, Phil from Useless Debates Podcast, Stork from Besotted Geek and Mario from Superiority Complex tried it out! Phil and Mario are there for the first half hour and the second half is me and Stork talking about a bunch of different stuff. We hope you enjoy this little experiment, and this may be only just a tas...

The Halloween Hustle has come to an end, but we saved the craziest for last and we're bringing it to you a day early for the holiday! This movie is all about a killer turkey that talks, and it was filmed in our neck of the woods! You also get a little bit of Q&A in this episode and the return of Brent's poetry! So, turn on the new episode, get full off of turkey and have a happy Thanksgiving. Foll...

Need a little more of Brent & PJ in your life? Well, here's a bonus side hustle for you! No movies and no real topics, if you ever wanted to see what it's like to chill with us when we are just kicked back, well here you go! This won't be a weekly thing, just whenever we have some extra time and turn on the mic. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Music by: Doc Giggz Learn more...

The Halloween Hustle is winding down BUT before it's over we had to make sure this one got on the show! TFTH is a 1995 horror anthology film that doesn't get the love it deserves. This movie brought out a lot of feelings, discussion and stories and one of those stories is one that Brent hasn't told many people before! There's also a little Q&A hustlin' after the review, so come and give us a liste...
