The Hawkeye Huddle

The final show of the season has the boys talking a little about a lot. Baseball, basketball, spring football.

As the Hawkeye Sports season draws to a relative close, the boys break down Iowa's loss to TCU but take much harder look at the Iowa Hoops Program going forward. Spring Football is also on the agenda as Kirk and his new coaching staff roll out the 2017 version of Hawkeye Football.

With the Iowa men sitting firmly on the NCAA Bubble, the boys have lots to talk about including the Big Ten Tournament and possible NCAA chances. Baseball, Wrestling, and Women's Basketball all get some air time as well on this edition of The Hawkeye Huddle.

Energy abounds on this edition of the Huddle as all Hawkeye teams had good weeks. March Madness is upon them and the boys break it all down.

The loss to Illinois seems to put post-season hopes on life-support for the men's hoops team. But the boys try to make sense of it and the remainder of the regular season. Also included is brief baseball, wrestling, and women's basketball talk.

The Hawkeye Football coaching staff is complete once again and the boys in the huddle love the hires. Frustrations abound with how tantalizingly close the Iowa hoops team has come to the NCAA Bubble. And Hawkeye Baseball is on the horizon in this edition of the huddle.

With the Hawkeye hoops squad within site of a spot on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, the boys break down their chances with the remaining schedule and a challenging RPI. Tom Kakert helps break down the return of Ken O'Keefe to the football coaching staff.

The Iowa hoops team prepares for a big week and football recruiting takes center stage on this weeks show!

Together again in the studio, Brett and Dave discuss the wrestling team's recent struggles, football recruiting that includes a nice crop of walk-ons from around Iowa, and the basketball season going forward.

A bit of a disjointed episode this week due to technical phone issues. But the boys make  their way through to discussing everything from basketball to football to recruiting.

With David back from vacation, the boys hash out some further observations on the Outback Bowl and discuss the hiring of Brian Ferentz as offensive coordinator. Recruiting and basketball talk are added to the mix for another fun installment of the Huddle.

With David on vacation in Mexico, Brett holds down the fort with thoughts on Iowa's unfortunate showing in the Outback Bowl, leaving CJ Beathard in the game too long, and how Ed Cunningham added fuel to the fire.

Since the boys can't be together to watch the Outback Bowl, they take care of their Gameday festivities BEFORE the show--making for a lively hour of radio entertainment. A trainwreck? Maybe a bit, but they do keep it on track enough to talk about the best storylines of Iowa football for this season and make a few predictions for the upcoming tilt in Tampa.

Show number 401 finds Brett and Dave excited about all of the new pieces of the Iowa Basketball squad. Both do not agree with Seniors skipping their Bowl games, and they give reasons why. And there's even a little bit of football recruiting news as Iowa heads into the Holidays and gets set to leave for Tampa.

The boys have Cy-Hawk domination on their minds as Iowa sweeps the three major winter sports from the Cyclones. They also talk Outback Bowl preparations and discuss the Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line in college football.

Iowa's Men's hoops squad is struggling but not for lack of talent. The Huddle talks about the difference between this Iowa team and others in the past with similar starts to the season. Also, of course, Bowl talk as the Outback Bowl becomes Iowa's destination!

Discussion in the Huddle settles around the exciting month of November for Hawkeye Football, the land of denial (Nebraska), and Hawkeye Basketball's defensive struggles.

While happy with a shutout victory over Illinois, the boys are a little annoyed that two more Iowa football recruits have decommitted (WRs, a position of need). There also hoops talk and a quick preview of the Black Friday tilt with Nebraska.

The boys break down a stagnant offensive scheme and what the Hawks can do going forward to finish the season strong.
