The church has much to be thankful for by the disciple who simply asked Jesus how to pray. In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus teaches and calls His disciples to a prayer life that is personal, fervent, thoughtful, and dependent on God.

In Luke chapter 10:38-42, we see Jesus is the one thing that is necessary. We are called from our preoccupation with busyness to choose Jesus, focus on Him and draw hope from Him.

It can be easy to assume that because our efforts are genuine, they must be correct. In Luke 9:57-62, Jesus explains the real discipleship to three people following Jesus on the road. Clarifying that He calls disciples to momentary discomfort, cultivate urgency, focus on heavenly things.

What does it mean to be great? The pursuit of greatness is admired in the west and eagerly sought. The disciples even desired to be great.
