Apparently the Apostle Paul divided the whole world into “two kinds of people:” those who are spiritually enslaved, and those who are spiritually free. From this complicated passage in Galatians, Pastor Garth explains the critical significance of living as a child of promise.

The slavery that the Galatians are in danger of embracing again is not just a matter of forfeiting sonship, but of abandoning the Only True God. So the Apostle Paul makes an impassioned plea for them to understand the nature of their adoption into God’s family.

As we journey through life as believers, it's crucial for us to remember who we were before faith in Jesus, what God has done for us, and who we are now through faith in Jesus. When we receive salvation, not only are we forgiven, we also receive the incredible blessing of being adopted as sons and heirs into God's family.

We have all kinds of categories for people. We call them Germans, Canadians, Romanians, Filipinos, African, Chinese... We say that people are funny or serious, sensitive or unfeeling, and so on. All kinds of categories and classifications. But at Golgotha on the day Jesus died, there were only two.

Palm Sunday is more than a time to look back at Jesus' triumphal entry. It's a time to recognize that Jesus truly is the King of kings. He is worthy of our worship. Matthew 21:1-11 invites us all to worship the King.

The biblical gospel gives freedom. The biblical gospel brings liberty. Everything else leads to spiritual slavery. Everything else leads back to bondage, back to captivity, and Galatians 2:1-10 addresses this matter clearly.

Churches often ask their members to share their testimony or their faith journey in a service or prayer meeting. And here, in Gal. 1:11-24, we find the apostle Paul sharing his in this autobiographical portion of the letter.

The underlying truth of Gal. 1:6-10 is very simple: There is no other gospel. Another gospel is not another gospel. It is no gospel. To change the Good News in the smallest amount is to lose it so completely that the new teaching has no right to be called a “gospel.”

The book of Galatians is dynamite. It is an explosion of joy and freedom which leaves us celebrating a life of blessing that only God can provide because it brings us face to face with the gospel. Join us in this study as Pastor Garth launches the series in Galatians!

This is the last message in the series, and today we take all that we’ve learned in the last three weeks and talk about having fruitful Gospel Conversations with the people God has placed in our lives. God is already at work! Let’s join Him!
