The First Cast

Often, God acts in ways we might not expect. While the messiah was long expected, the way in which He arrived was not expected.

God used Caesar Augustus to bring the prophecy to pass that Christ would be born in Bethlehem. In the birth of Jesus, we see a God who is sovereign, the humble life of our Savior, and a baby who was born that we might be born again.

Thank God for Christmas. In this message, we explore Mary's visit with Elizabeth, and Mary's praise, known as the Magnificat. In hearing Mary's praise we are reminded what true worship looks like. 12.10.23

The Christmas story begins with two promises. The first is a promise to a barren couple that they will have a child, and the second is to a young woman named Mary who has never known a man. It is a frequently quoted verse. It is played as a trump card to end all arguments. "Judge not." So, should Christians make judgments? Does everyone judge sometimes? Is there a right and wrong way to judge our behavior and that of other people?

God just wants me to be happy. Right? Is it possible, that what makes me happy might be bad for me? Perhaps happiness today is misery tomorrow? Is happiness tied to circumstances? (7.16.23)

We have all heard it when going through difficult times, "Hang in there, you know God won't give you more than you can handle." Is that really the case? At times, life can feel overwhelming. At times, it feels as though God allows way more than we can handle! What gives? (7.9.23)
