The Final Assessment

The return of the deviled ham demon! @ChasmoticMedia A lot stuck to the wall on this one: using a piece of information planted almost subtly in a previous episode recent enough that we don't need a flashback about it; pointed use of current events juxtaposed with ancient history; the second most unworthy character in the show getting the goods; and Sheryl (of course it was Sheryl) actually following through on a promise (maybe)....

In which the abundant respect for human life is demonstrated by tricking the atheists onto a cursed transatlantic flight. On this episode, we learn why Damien was so particular about his nannies. Leland has nothing on Morticia Adams. Ben is getting feisty. Sister Andrea, once again, saves the day. We're entering real "center will not hold" territory. #Evil #howtobuildacoffin #demontimmy Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr.ee/chasmo...

Wee wee wee all the way to the gates of Hell. Another pointed lesson, though who it's pointed at might be up for debate. Possible implications about the divine feminine (with and without glass ceiling) and the thankfully outdated practice of naming your antichrists after your father. #Evil #howtoslaughterapig #whosyourdaddy Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follo...

The unwinding is in full swing as the gang tracks down racist robot dogs while managing their own individually crumbling worlds. As it turns out, the Mayans were right. We just forgot to carry a 1. All the pieces get moved into place for the final battle as (almost) everyone's secrets are exposed and Leland's end game is revealed. We might never understand all the twists and turns the egg took on its way to being fertilized. #evil #demonoftheend #accidentalantichrist Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr.ee/chasmoticmedia...

Another confused demon, this one bullying its victims into doing good. A lot of clever turns with the premise, but the return of Grace Ling is a reminder to everyone that something much larger is at play.   #evil #evilseason3 #demonofmoney Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr.ee/chasmoticmedia Other shows, episodes,...

This show never passes up the chance to pull the rug out from under viewer complacency, as a spin on Rosemary’s Baby turns dark. Meanwhile, more Spy v. Spy for David, and Kurt serves as an object lesson on insecurity.  Another roundabout point culled from previous episodes, with the end of the season looming, the questions stands: does anybody but Leland really, truly understand the purported stakes here? Musings about Latin, and a grammar lesson from Hell. #Evil #demonofcults #amoamasamat Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr.ee/chasmo...

The show’s fascination with technology as an instrument of Leland & Co. continues. What a first feels like a retread becomes another layer of the demonic onion. We’re getting cyclical revelations here. In the meantime, we also wonder what Beyonce would do. #Evil #Evilseason3 #demonofalgorithms #whatwouldbeyoncedo Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us...

We continue tracing our way back to Grace Ling with another building collapse, this one featuring a woman with a lamb (and definitely not a gyro). More blunt instruments as Andrea's persecution proceeds with David as her defense, and one of Leland's acolytes breaks down what's really going on. #evil #evilseason3 #angelofwarning #oppositionaldefiantnuns Questions, comments, and theories – chas...

No mixed messages here. Anyone confused about David’s deal won’t be after this one. More shenanigans from Leland, more aiding and abetting by the Church, more Ben and his logic spoiling everyone’s fun. Leland make a move against Sister Andrea, and the motives of the various moving parts in the Church hierarchy become increasingly obscure. Meanwhile, Kristen helps David counsel a newlywed couple plagued by the titular demon, whose motives are even more muddled than the Church's. #Evil #Evilseason3 #Demonofsex #fallingtopieces Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow...

As Andy prepares to dip, LeConte returns with more nonsense, Leland makes a good point, and Kristen may or may not have to have a talk with Lynn. #Evil #evilseason3 #demonofmemes #illuminatus Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr.ee/chasmoticmedia Other shows, episodes, schedules, random announcements, and (coming soon) merch!...

At least they didn't take the easy way to wrap up the teaser ending of Season 2. Leland reverts, for the moment to bumbling buffoon status. Sheryl remains a mystery, and Monsignor steps in it in a way he might never comprehend. We get an unsettling end to the main storyline of the episode, but the real end is what happens after David's ordination, and a performance by Katja Herbers that is probably too good for most shows, #Evil #Season2 #CisforCannibal #Theprophecy Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Foll...

The demonology of the show continues to collapse into vaguely unsettling chaos as Leland worms his way further into Monsignor's dumb graces. Sister Andrea's sad story is a bitter pill, and one of the best pieces of actual complex morality that the show will ever deal with. #Evil #Season2 #DisforDoll #evildolls #sloppydemonology Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follo...

The IRS auditor is the least upsetting thing in an episode featuring crawling vomit and Baphobros. The more we learn about Sheryl, the less we understand. Kristen's inner demons vie with David's for most pointed metaphor of the series. #Evil #Season2 #IisforIRS #placebo #Fridaynightservice Questions, comments, and theories – chasmoticmedia@duck.com Follow us everywhere –  https://linktr....

Body positivity from two sides of the coin, Melindaz returns to continue destroying the self-esteem of young girls, preparing them to pall prey to the types of men Leland Townsend befriends. Unanswered questions abound and many small things seem important to the story, and are treated as such by the characters, without giving viewers any context--it won't all be saved by coming back alter. The threads running through this episode (and ultimately through the whole series)--guilt, sin, and doubt--may be neon, but are no less masterfully woven. Mileage is gotten in unexpected (but not unsurprising, sadly) ways from a handful of occurrences that could have been exhausted in an episode or two in less-skilled hands. #Evil #Season2 #CisforCop #Alibis Questions, comments, and theories –&nbs...
