Sometimes it is fun to explore outside the normal music of harmony, melody, and rhythm. This is where noise music comes in. Here is a case for noise.

Devo is one of my favorite acts of all time. DIY ethos, quirky music, and a punk attitude. Some folks dismiss them as a novelty. This is why they matter.

It may be counter intuitive, but limiting options when creating can lead to a creative spark. Try it out. I just got a new system to go DAWless and limit options.

I got an email from Spotify wondering why I went back to audio and imploring me to go back to video. I am wondering why?

In my estimation, anything that becomes a movement, a club, or any organized thing begins to rot once it is organized. In this episode I lay out their argument for not joining, doing your own thing, and being a permanent “outside the bubble” resident.

Punk Rock is more than music and fashion. It is an ethos, a philosophy, a lifestyle. This essay argues that it is as needed today as when it was born.

We all want people to enjoy what we create. This is true. But in this video I suggest that by making music for ourselves we will find people that enjoy our creations and we do not lose our joy of creation. Making music just for others however may rob us of that joy
