The Diary Of A Wannabe Writer

I talk about the one occasion (so far) where I have used a real person, sadly no longer with us, as a character in a story.

I’m back home and absolutely shattered so much of what I planned to do today is not going to happen.

In what will hopefully be my final update on this trip away, I talk about the fact I’ve started work on chapter 5 of Self Portrait. I’ve also decided to recommend a song for you to listen to. The clue is in the title (well, it’s not really a clue; the title is in the title!) Pulp!

I walked for quite a few miles in Singapore and then finally signed off chapter 4.

Once again, I talk about what I’ve achieved in the last 24 hours, and once again I’m pretty pleased with it. I’m ahead of the schedule I set myself for this month and hope to sign off another chapter tomorrow…

Greetings from Sydney Australia! Today I tell a story about how social awkwardness led me to leave a sweaty towel in a coffee shop. Don’t hate me. And I did some writing.

I do some writing in a coffee shop as well as having some food (I wonder what I had?) and then continue working on chapter 4 in a lounge at the hotel.

I celebrate by telling you about the first chapter I have signed off this month, and where it is all going (but without any spoilers.

Safely in Singapore and have managed to get some writing done.

I talk about signing off the second draft of Empress, and then about an episode of television that was broadcast two days ago in the USA and yesterday in the UK, the season premiere (and maybe series finale) of South Park.

I talk about why attending a writing club this evening meant I didn’t get to sign off the second draft of Empress today.

I inform you that I have received my second proof copy of “Empress” for final sign off and then talk about one of my favourite classic radio cereals, the wonderful “Journey Into Space”

Spent the morning taking photographs of trees in Sherwood Forest. I did not hug any trees. I think I might’ve done if I had been by myself!

I don’t want to say that the second draft of “Empress” is signed off just in case my proof copy has loads of errors in it, but if it doesn’t then it is if that makes sense! It will be going out to beta readers very soon hopefully…

I just finished reading my draft copy of Empress, I want to run it all through a grammar checker again which may take a couple of days and then I think the second draft is done…

I talk about how I got on today with signing off the second draft of Empress of the Trees.

My hardback proof copy of “Empress of the Trees” has arrived and I spent a lot of my day reading it. It’s pretty damn large but so far I’m really enjoying it, I’m approximately 160 pages in and I’ve only made cosmetic changes.

I talk about the fact that I finally updated my website today, also that my hard copy of “Empress” has been shipped and should hopefully arrive by Friday, and also about the bookclub I attended this evening at my local bookshop. And I keep it down to 6 minutes, go me!!!

On my drive back home from Northumberland, I stop at a 17th century aristocracy retreat in Derbyshire, Bolsover Castle…
