Today's episode begins the consideration of the Temptation of Jesus in the Dessert.  The Spirit led him into the wilderness where he was tempted.  

What lessons can we learn from the baptism of Jesus?  Have you been baptized?  Why?  Why not?

What can we learn about Jesus Christ and His message through John the Baptist as he prepared the way for Christ?  What do we learn about ourselves, the church, and how do we respond?

While there is not much recorded of Jesus' early life, there are a few passages that provide us insight into areas where He grew -- areas where we should also grow.  Luke 2:40,52 provides us with some areas for personal evaluation as we also grow into the people God intends for us to be.

How well do we know Jesus?  What is there to learn from his early years when so little is actually said?  Join me as we take a look at some lessons from Christ's life that can have dramatic impact our Christian living.

Jude finishes his brief letter by calling Christians to intentionally grow in their most holy faith and to remember that it is Christ who ultimately keeps us from falling and presents us before God without fault. What a tremendously wonderful benediction to a book with such stern warning!

We live in a society, even among many Christians, that simply says we need to be tolerant of others. But that mindset goes awry as it encounters God's true truth.  There is purported Christian teaching that seems to strike against the very core of Christian truth, and against such teaching we must be on guard. 

Eternal, Damnable judgement is something of which we hear very little in our day.  The Book of Jude issues a clarion call to be ware of ways which lead to fiery judgement. 

False teaching and errant ways are warned against in the Book of Jude.  What Jude says strikes definitively against modern popular culture, and the call is for the Church to have no place with this error.

While Jude could have spent time relishing the realities of salvation with his readers, he takes an abrupt turn to focus upon the need of contending for the faith once for all entrusted to the saints.  Why must we contend for the faith?

An introduction to the Book of Jude.  Jude doesn't seek to make the Gospel palatable, he calls us to understand and accept it as it is.  He speaks to those who are loved, called, and kept by Jesus.

How do we make decisions?  Steps in determining God's will.

The Christian Life is one of trust, but not just trust for salvation into heaven someday, trust for the strength, help, and hope of God in our lives each and every day. Learn to live with God daily.

We can work so hard "for God", but find ourselves empty.  The beginning of preparing for the work is found in learning what it means to be with God in regular relationship.

God often doesn't call the people we would expect -- the rich, the famous, the influential -- like sports figures, Hollywood or Nashville stars, nor powerful politicians.  God displays His power through common, everyday, ordinary, garden-variety folk like you and me.

Jesus instructs us that we are to add flavor and color to the world in which we live by being Salt and Light, and He also instructs us that we are called to a higher standard than what the law called us to.  The law dealt with the externals, but Life in Christ deals with the internals.
