What Does Disability Mean To You?

Every year in March, people across the world come together to mark Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. 

For many people, artificial intelligence is still spoken of as a futuristic convenience— something that speeds up tasks or personalises entertainment. But for those of us living with disabilities, AI is not a luxury. It is a tool of access. It is a bridge. And, in many cases, it is a pathway back to independence. 

Begin by tying your hand behind your back. As difficult as this may be, then spend ten minutes getting yourself ready for the day. Then try using the toilet with one arm and no use of your legs, or try climbing into the bath. 

Cerebral palsy is the most common lifelong physical disability in the world. Yet one of the most important things to understand about CP is that it is not a “one-size-fits-all” condition. No two individuals with cerebral palsy are exactly alike.
