We tend to grade ourselves on the curve. But something does not have to be extreme in our eyes to be an abomination in God's. God and God alone can satisfy the people He made. But we can miss that satisfaction by trying to fill ourselves with substitute counterfeit gods that leave us on empty. A church is not a building. It is a people. God's people. When God's people are filled with the Holy Spirit, people can see Christ in us. Making something a right in man's eyes or in our laws does not make it right. When we do what is right in God's eyes, we will be blessed. In a post-modern culture anything goes according to one's truth. Profane behavior is endorsed and accepted in an environment that has lost its center. People scramble to gain power over others or in other's eyes. But there is no power as great as the power God gives His people through the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is known as the book that reads you. But Christ is also the living Word of God. Fear is never something we embrace as good, but there is one fear that ends all other fears and it is good indeed: the fear of the LORD. Memories have a way of making us feel nostalgic, wishing we could visit the past and some memories can cause us to wish we could forget the past, but remembering God's word, works, and character is always worth remembering. In life's hardest places, the presence of others with us is a comfort. But people can only be with us temporarily, while God is with us always. Being wise leads to an inheritance greater than any riches of this world could ever compare. Covering over our sins does not heal us unless Jesus is the One Who covers them with His own blood. Deliverance is not just escaping our troubles. It is finding victory right in the midst of them.
