As always, every Friday Wade Harris joins the Sports Shop with a special guest for Firebirds Friday. This week, Wade is joined by the president of the basketball league, which the Firebirds are a part of, David Madley. Madley shares his experience with the local sports in the triangle and how much the Firebirds have grown as an organization.

Lamar Jackson has still yet to sign a long-term deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The franchise deadline tag is Tuesday and it looks like Jackson and the organization remain at a standstill. Is the writing on the wall as far as Jackson no longer being a Raven come next season?

It's a doubleheader of Duke vs North Carolina this weekend beginning today in Greensboro at the women's ACC Tournament. The Blue Devils and Tar Heels will face off for a third time this season in the quarterfinals at 6 PM. Tomorrow night over in Chapel Hill it's the second meeting for the men's as it'll be the Tar Heels last game at home this season.

It's hard for any football team to be good without a solid quarterback play. Scott Fitterer, General Manager of the Carolina Panthers recently spoke to the media from a scouting combine to discuss what the team is looking to do with the ninth overall pick in this year's draft, and where he feels the team can improve the most.

Yesterday the Sports Shop held its annual Salute To Champions luncheon where members of the 2023 class were recognized and honored. Dr. Deborah Stroman who was in attendance and is a member of the 2018 class shared how thankful she is to be a part of a Salute To Champions class and goes on to share what she's thankful for already in the early stages of the year 2023.

Last night NC State concluded their final game of the regular season with a 71-67 loss on the road at Duke. The Wolfpack had a strong turnaround this year as they finished the season with an overall record of 22-9, 12-8 in the ACC. After dropping their last two games of the season though, how much pressure is on Kevin Keatts's team now heading into the ACC Tournament?

Don't look now, but North Carolina is starting to gain momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Tar Heels defeated the Seminoles on the road last night by a final of 77-66. The biggest takeaway from last night's game is the fact that Armando Bacot only scored one point and the Tar Heels still came away with a victory.

This past Friday in their game against the Ottawa Senators, the Carolina Hurricanes honored the Historic Black Colleges & Universities in North Carolina by wearing helmet decals of schools from around the state of North Carolina. Among the HBCUs featured were Bennett College, North Carolina A&T, Winston-Salem State University, Johnson C. Smith University, and Shaw University.

This past weekend Alabama's Brandon Miller made headlines once again due to what he did during the team's pregame introductions. Head coach Nate Oats addressed the "pat-down" as not appropriate and commented that it had been addressed and will not happen anymore for the remainder of the season.
