The Avid Indoorsmen

We heard that Disney + was releasing a filmed version of the live theatrical production of Hamilton and we were not throwing away our shot…we had to do it. Jenika Marion and Neil Ghosh were on the Zoom where it happened, and it was super fun geeking out to this musical theater phenomenon with them. Neil made his AI debut and he fit right in, Jenika has been on so many times and is a fan favorite a...

Have you been looking for a fun, well-written heist movie to watch and just can’t seem to find one? Have we got the answer for you. It’s called Logan Lucky and it’s currently available to stream on HULU! Both of us have loved this movie since it came out and it kind of flew under the radar for most people. Another guy who enjoyed this film when it came out is Reilly Zamber, so we decided to chat w...

We’re back with another Social Distancing Session and when we booked this podcast Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was on Netflix. When we recorded this episode it was then taken off Netflix. But if you’re like us, you’ve probably seen Austin Powers so many times you won’t even need a rewatch before listening to us talk about it. We brought in some super cool cats who love this movie as...

The Home Free Merch Man himself, Potatoe aka Nathan Rodes Stone, makes his Avid Indoorsmen debut on the 35th Anniversary of Back To The Future. Everyone who knows Nate knows that he has seen this movie roughly 10 million times, so this was a no-brainer when deciding who we should have on this episode. Nate gave some very fun takes on this iconic film and some trivia we’d never heard before. It was...

Happy Belated Father’s Day to all the Dads our there! We‘ve been trying to come up with a reason to devote an episode to About Time for a while now and the fact that it’s a great father and son movie and it’s currently on Netflix, we thought we’d add it to our Social Distancing Sessions! We are so excited to introduce to you the talented singer/songwriter and new podcaster, Jon McLaughlin. He’s ma...

While we are still being encouraged to social distance and stay at home, we continue our Social Distancing Sessions! We’ve been trying to keep it upbeat for the most part, so we figured since Just Friends is celebrating a 15th year Anniversary and currently on Netflix, it would be a fun one to chat about! We brought in one of our favorite recurring guests in @benny_elledge and making her AI Debut...

It’s the 10th Anniversary of the Fincher/Sorkin classic and we had to bring in a couple film aficionados to express why this film is so good, so we brought in Seggie Isho and a newbie to the pod, Luke Pierce. We had such a great time breaking down this film with these two. We’ve decided they both have to come back on together because it was such a blast. This episode ends with us playing a very fu...

Just to be clear, this was recorded before the tragic events in Minneapolis and that is why it isn’t mentioned at all. We return with another Social Distancing Session and brought back one of Rob’s best friends, Timmy St. Sauver, to talk about the Rom-Com She’s Out Of My League that is currently streaming on Netflix. Had a blast taking our minds off of the craziness in the world and breaking down...

We agreed to embark on the quest of talking about the most recent Pixar film, Onward, and we needed 3 brave souls to accompany us. We couldn’t find any so we asked some of Rob’s Home Free Fam to come back to the pod. Jenika Marion, Abe Sword and Adam Rupp heard we were gonna be chatting about Onward and they all volunteered to virtually hang out with us. And spoiler alert, we actually have Adam’s...

Our name is The Avid Indoorsmen. You’ve heard our podcast. Prepare to enjoy yourself! Our good buddy @PeterHollens wanted to come on the podcast and he optioned for us to talk about The Princess Bride which took absolutely no convincing whatsoever. We’re so happy he chose this and it has recently been added to Disney + if you’re looking for something fun to watch while social distancing! Before we...

We have been having a blast with these Movie Game Nights and this episode is no exception. We brought in our good buddies and fellow Minneapolis musicians Max Felsheim and Dan Ristrom to keep the hilarious game night streak alive. A new game was introduced and we brought back two more that were so much fun. There were many laughs had in this one, we hope you’re enjoying the extra content! 1:05 @Da...

Another amazing movie that is available to watch on Netflix while you’re stuck at home is the mind-blowing 1999 film, The Matrix. We found a couple of buddies who love this movie even more than we do, @Heatboxllc and @Patrickmpls. Before we chat with Box and Pat, we discuss the last movie we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and our favorite quarantine meals. Heatbox has been on our show a few times n...

It’s time for another Movie Game Night! We are joined by some of our favorite Oregonians, the lovely husband and wife musical duo @TheHoundTheFox, and we brought back @Abe_Sword for the entire episode this time! Such a great time playing some games and catching up with friends. We hope you’re all enjoying the extra content and staying safe out there! 1:44 @Thehoundthefox 3:02 @abe_sword 5:01 The A...

Another Social Distancing Session is upon us and we put a twist on it, which is very appropriate considering the film we discussed, Knives Out is the first film we’ve done an SDS episode on that is not on Netflix. We felt this film was worth spending the extra money to rent because of how great it is. Knives Out gives a modern take on the classic Whodunit genre and it’s the first of these films we...

This is our 4th movie game night and we brought back Tim Foust who’s been on several of these and even made up a new game for us to play! His much better half Jenika Marion made her movie game night debut but has been on the pod several times and she is a DELIGHT! Jeffrey East made his Avid Indoorsmen debut and was too much fun. We briefly got to hang with Abe Sword who has been on the pod before...

Howdy Avid Indoorspeople! We’re back with another Social Distancing Session and we were so excited to talk about the Modern Western from 2016, Hell or High Water. To really dive into this film we decided to bring back one of our favorite buckaroos, Straight No Chaser’s Seggie Isho! Before we chat with Seggie we discuss what movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and the fun things we’ve been eati...

We’re back with some more Social Distancing Sessions and this time we brought a couple of our favorite college buddies onto the pod! One of these guys you’ve heard during our Marvel Mania episodes and our Inglorious Podcasts, NYC actor, Benny Elledge. The other is Taylor Hayes, who’s also an NYC actor and is making his Avid Indoorsmen debut! Before we break down the film with Benny and Taylor we d...

It’s time for another Movie Game Night! We had such a good time with @TimFoustMusic and @SNCSeggie that we had to bring them back for some more movie game action! We also brought back a guest we haven’t heard from in a while, ex-MLB pitcher/Current Fantasy Football podcaster @BradZiegler! We changed the format up and did 3 separate games instead of one long marathon movie game. This worked out rea...

BANGARANG! We were so excited that Hook was on Netflix so we could add this to our Social Distancing Sessions! Hook was a special movie for both of us, but Rob has been quoting this movie with his sister since it came out, so we had to have her on to talk about it. We’re excited to have Jen Lundquist make her AI debut! Before we chat with Jen we talk about the latest films we’ve seen, what we’re s...

Since we’ve had some extra time we thought it would be fun to do some movie games with different guests! Our first Movie Game Night features Home Free’s own Tim Foust, The Criterion Man himself Darrell Marrier, and Straight No Chaser’s Seggie Isho. Rob has played a particular movie game with the other Home Free guys while driving all over the country and has played this game, naming off actors and...

We were so excited to talk about 2018’s Academy Award winning Best Animated Feature with some of our favorite people in this universe @TheAdamChance and @SamiMatarante! Before we chat with them we talk about the latest movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming on the inter-WEBS and our favorite meals of late. Chance and Sami always have great insight and that is very present in this episode. We all...

Everyone is stuck in their homes for the next however long, so we thought the next batch of movies we release should all be available to stream on Netflix. We’re calling this new series: Social Distancing Sessions. We decided to bring the laughs on the first episode of Social Distancing Sessions since we all could use more of that in our lives right now. We chose The Other Guys which just so happe...

First off, we hope you are all safe and healthy during these crazy times. We recorded this before the pandemic really got going, so that’s why we don’t mention it at all in the episode. We cannot believe TMNT is 30 years old!?! Since this movie and comic franchise has been such a huge part of our lives, it was really a no-brainer that we would do an episode on it. It seemed like the perfect time t...

HOLY SHNIKEYS! Tommy Boy just turned 25 years old and it just so happens to be one of our favorite movies of all time. We thought we should bring someone on who loves this movie as much as we do, so we have one of our closest friends making his AI debut, our good college buddy, Brandon Miller! Before we talk with Brandon we talk about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and what we’ve...
