Talking about finding some positivity while learning to step back to move forward.

Downtime is important. It's become a rarity for many of us today.

NakaKon 2022 has come and gone, and I think the show went pretty well overall. There were some things I could have done better, but it felt like finding my feet all over again. New format starting up with episodes clocking in around 10 minutes for most now. 

Some musings on what I felt is missing when aspiring artists want to learn more about further growing as an artist.

Yet another episode where I decided to re-record, because I think I hadn't really given myself enough time to process the feelings and thoughts I had after going to the Auschwitz Exhibit at Union Station... As I'll state in the podcast, I'm just now mulling over the amazing show that is Gravity Falls, and I know what you're all probably thinking if you've seen this show. Why oh why did you wait so long to watch this? It turns out, it was very much a moment of me judging a book by its cover upon first sight, but it only took me a few days to rectify this issue this week. 

Here are my year end thoughts, just hours before it becomes 2021. This also marks the end of this season of episodes. Thanks to any and all of you that have listened, shared, downloaded and supported this little audio effort of mine. It's appreciated! 

Constants and Stasis are two very present things for me these days, and the balancing act, and self definitions of them weigh on my mind more and more. How does one move onwards and upwards from the hole that stasis creates? What defines a positive constant, from an aspect of stasis?

Did the last show of the year, Topeka Fan Con, that had it's debut show. It was a great way to end my show run for this year. And as usual, I have some post con blues going on, and had some rambling thoughts that I wanted to record. 

I went to a convention named QuadCon in St. Charles, Missouri, and because it was a total of 8 hours of driving, of course I had a lot to think about and talk about. This is the podcast that I had thought to do when I got back.

Over the spate of some hours on a rainy day, I thought about what I'm doing professionally in life, think about a few movies that are coming out soon, the oncoming holiday season now that it's the end of September, and watching the video that Adam Savage did on Grant Imahara's maker space. 

Pressure is insidious and sneaky, forward and blunt. It can come from the public, your insecurities, ,the expectations, the unwanted feedback, the sometimes even in accepting good compliments. I cover a few of the manifestations of it, and what I've found to be able to deal with, or at least temporarily disperse the feelings of pressure for a little while. We all have it at some point in our lives...

NakaKon was a blast this year. After visiting Planet just some weeks before, and spending time at this show behind the table, it gave me time to think about the current, past, and future paths that conventions could take. The possibilities are endless, but my question is, does everyone really acknowledge that? Is there still a distinct wall between those that run shows, and the vendors and creator...
