Rejoining the world after our Canadian Thanksgiving, our Now Playing list sported a couple games that we weren't expecting to exist, be good, or be relevant. After, we take a look at some of our pleasant surprises that hit out of left field.

We're still all over Samus Returns and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, so we go a bit more in-depth on those titles before touching on October releases and the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer.

After some big name releases, we took an extended "What are you playing?" segment and turned it into a full episode. We've got looks at Mario + Rabbids, NBA2K18, Destiny 2, Metroid: Samus Returns, and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.

(DRAGONBALL SUPER GIVEAWAY WEEK 3 - LISTEN FOR INFO) Sonic is back, and he may be having his best outing since the Genesis, so we decided to give it a throw around to see what happened to make the original formula, barely changed, as appealing in 2017 as it was in 1991.

(DRAGONBALL SUPER GIVEAWAY WEEK 2 - LISTEN FOR INFO) DLC is, at this point, an accepted part of the gaming landscape. Loot boxes are essentially accepted as well. Now, we're starting to see more loot boxes that contain actual content in them in the form of usable items and unlockables than purely cosmetics. We don't like this one bit.

Well, Chris was on, so we had to talk about fighting games, right? Evolution 2017 crowned Street Fighter veteran Tokido as champion, nearly saw ChrisG repeat as Marvel 3 champ, but fall short, a glorious showing out of Tekken 7, and provided an amazing finish to Smash 4. With so much action, there was no doubt that we'd be talking about Evo.

We're back after the holiday, and we needed to address what Nintendo recently revealed about Super Mario Odyssey. No extra lives, no game overs? Are these systems still needed? Is it important to have a strong price of failure?

There is a certain bit of irony in the decision to speak on communication when the host is so sick that can barely perform his function, but that's how we roll. Contained therein: Nintendo Switch Online Service and the voice chat boondoggle, June releases, and various Square Enix news with the FF7 Remake delay, Lost Sphear aka Setsuna 2, and releasing the Hitman franchise.

On today's show we mull over some Pre E3 news bits, with Destiny 2's lack of dedicated servers taking top billing. Also, Nintendo's stock heading up, Red Dead Redemption 2's delay into 2018, a new game show, and a guest star who shows his dedication.

We're late due to computer issues!  Today we examine the relevancy of E3 in light of companies being able to distribute news à la carte. E3 has struck back by making the event open to the public for the first time, attempting to turn it into the de facto "video game con." Does this help or hurt E3's future?
