This is a reflection on God’s testing of Abraham’s faith and faithfulness. God calls him by name and instructs him to sacrifice his son Isaac. No reason given, just the expectation of obedience. A troubling story but worth the trouble of considering. From Genesis 22. Peace

“Father Knows Best” is my reflection on Genesis 21 where God Sees and Hears Ishmael’s sobs and opens Hagar’s eyes to salvation when she had given up. Then I interpret Christ’s instructions to his Disciples not to fear because God is with them… His eye is on the sparrow! Peace

Wanted, Lifeguards! We are called to go out and share God’s compassion. There are many ways of doing this, but fear of rejection and persecution keep us in our safe places. Jesus begins the good news and bids us to continue and trust that it will be blessed. Peace

Deleted is the title of the message from Isaiah 6:1-8. It deals with the complete forgiveness of God and God’s ability to Blot out our sin and Forget it! - Peace

Tongue Tied is the title of this meditation on Pentecost and its message to us as Christians called to voice the TRUTH to the world around us. The truth we receive must counter the lies seeking to control us and withhold justice from so many of God’s children. Peace

The Ascension forces us to accept our responsibility to actively witness to Christ’s life. He is gone and we are left to continue his ministry! - Peace

Paul makes a case for Christianity in Athens. An example for presenting our faith in a reasonable way today. - Peace

Remembering the martyrdom of Stephen may open us to the suffering of others and not lose our empathy in their sheer numbers. - Peace

Day by Day is how the first Christians lived in community pooling their resources and providing for any who had need. What can we learn from them and how can we apply it to our communities today? Peace

A witness is someone who accepts a responsibility for what they have seen. Jesus told the disciples who had witnessed his ministry, death and resurrection that they were to be his witnesses. How are we to live as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus we have recently celebrated? Peace

I am discussing closed doors and how we might open them. John 20 holds the story of Jesus entering the locked room where the disciples were hiding after he was crucified and resurrected. I feel it gives us the way to overcome our fears and open the doors we have closed and locked to go out with courage and purpose. Peace

As Jesus rode a donkey into Eastern Jerusalem, Pilate rode a war horse accompanied be a Roman legion into Jerusalem from the West. Jesus, fulfilling Scripture, was also lampooning Rome, challenging the populace and us to decide who to follow: Raw Power or Vulnerable Peace.

Jesus reveals that God does not accept prejudice, and loves all people and desires us all to love one another as we are loved through The Woman at the Well story in John 4. Peace.

Abraham’s faith and the fears he faced and overcame to fulfill his life and God’s will to become a blessing to all people is the topic of my reflections; aimed at the aging church and the elderly.

Temptation comes to all of us, but in order to recognize it and respond to it I am looking at Jesus response to the tempter in the wilderness. Peace

Jesus began the Sermon on the Mount with the beatitudes and followed his inspired description of who we were created to be by the calling us The Salt of the Earth and the Light of the World. We are the world’s righteousness and truth. Here are a few remarks on You Are the Salt of the Earth. Peace

The following message is a reflection on Christ’s counter-cultural description on how humanity is to express its true self, living into the image of God in which we are created by living the beatitudes, thereby satisfying the longing of our souls and bringing peace to the world. Peace

This is a reflection on answering the call of God to move from marking time (chronos) to living our lives as the children of God (kairos). It may take an Ah-Ha moment to realize that our lives can experience a deeper meaning as was the case with those fishermen who left their nets to follow Jesus. Peace
