Jesus tells the parable of the shrewd manager which sounds like it's all about money and possessions but is it? Maybe it's about much more.

Luke 15:1-10 Jesus tells two stories about someone losing something and then looking for it until it's found. Surprise! It's about us! We find ourselves lost, estranged from God and Jesus came to find us! When we're found, all of heaven rejoices and the church should rejoice, too!

What is a deacon or deaconess? How do they serve the church and what qualifies someone to be recognized as one? This week we ordain our very first deaconess!

Jesus prioritized people over tradition. This week, we look at his response to a handicapped woman in Luke 13. We also see the reaction of the religious leaders and talk about what our own reactions should be. Contact us at hopechurchrc@gmail.com 

Luke 12:49-53 has some different words than we're used to hearing from Jesus. He says he brings division rather than peace. What does he mean by that?

Jesus talked about money a lot. Maybe it's because money and possessions can so easily consume our time and thoughts. This week, we're challenged to have correct attitudes about our possessions by looking at the Parable of the Rich Fool. 

Everyone prays for something, whether it's for themselves, others, or the world. We all have needs and wants that we ask God to help us with. Often he answers those prayers, but sometimes he's silent. It's difficult to wait in the silence when a need is weighing on us so heavily, but Jesus promises that God will give us more of himself to help us through!

In Luke 10:1-9 Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples to tell people about the kingdom of God. In today's church we often invite people to come to us more than we go to them, and that's ok, but it's not the only way. Jesus is still calling us to go out and proclaim the kingdom of God to everyone in our local context. 

Jesus responds to excuses for not following him. He reminds us that following him isn't easy and loving isn't optional.

This week Jesus encounters a man possessed by a "legion" of demons. He frees him and gives him one simple commandment - Go home and tell of all God has done for you. And that's what we should be focused on doing too!

What is the trinity? What is it like? This week we look at John 16 where Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit. We can't possibly exhaustively cover everything there is to know about the Holy Spirit, especially in 10 minutes, but this week we look at the concept of the Holy Spirit guiding us into the truth that Jesus is the Messiah. Today we talk about Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit helps us to proclaim the wonderful works of God. 

This week we recognize graduates and veterans who have passed on for national Memorial Day. We talk about life being hard, but God being really, really good! Thanks for listening!

We are in Acts chapter 16 this week where Paul meets a prominent gentile lady named Lydia. She worshipped God, heard the gospel of Christ and believed, immediately putting her faith into action. She's an inspiration and a faith to emulate in our daily walk. 

This week we're back in Acts in chapter 11 talking about the time Peter had a dream to go against what he thought were the rules. This week we are looking at Luke's account of the resurrection of Christ in Luke 24. Because of Christ's victory over death, we have life!

This week we're looking at Jesus' triumphal entry and crucifixion as recorded in the book of Luke. On Sunday, the people are welcoming Jesus as king, or at least the type of king they want. We also see Judas, the one who would betray Jesus, holding back and criticizing her worship. Luke 15:11-32 is a story I'd God's love for us and how he desires to have a relationship with us no matter where we find ourselves.

Luke 13:1-9. Jesus talks about but doesn't answer why tragedy happens. Then he tells a story about being fruitful. It's challenging as always but he's there to help you through the process.
