Sometimes in sports we can get bored and try to entertain ourselves and when we do, we risk getting too cute and losing our identity. I believe that is what has happened to the Chiefs. I see it all the time in high school football where the teams with all the talent experiment with things instead of perfecting the things they do well. 

The idea that coaches get credit for new philosophies or play innovations is laughable because nothing is new. The problem is that only certain coaches get this praise. 

I talk about the fact that in life there are things you can compromise on but there are also things that don't get that luxury. Playing defense is one of them. If you don't play it, you are not winning a championship.
